where did you even get the idea of the girls' periods stopping? that tl convo is too vague
Honestly, there's not much else they could be talking about imo. If you have any other ideas then feel free to tell me! But the first thing I thought of when reading the timeline is that they are referring to their period.
Mahiru implies that it's probably because they've had a heightened amount of stress, which a very common cause to look to when talking about period delay which is why she says that sort of thing happens all the time
In milgrams preview video (https://youtu.be/RcqXCnAhQlI?si=2zBMjiDXukP-uIrC), there are a few short frames which show yuno, fuuta, mahiru, kazui and kotoko with their mouths covered/sealed, with the exception of fuuta. Do you perhaps have any idea why he could be the only exception, and instead of his mouth its his eyes that are covered up?
I remember there used to be a small theory for this (although I have my doubts about it in general) that the characters that showed up are the ones the milgram team think would be ultimately guilty and the way they are shown represents how a guilty may effect them. Fuuta's eye is covered, and Kotoko beat up Fuuta resulting in his eye being damaged.
I personally don't agree with the idea that this is the milgram teams idea because I dont think they'd put their own opinions into it. I personally think it was because Fuuta's eyes had a lot to do with his crime, and also the idea that his view of a lot of things is blinded by his goals
Do you think Shido is privileged by the fandom?? He literally purposely failed multiple surgeries and harvested organs. But he was voted innocent in both trials. It shouldn’t matter who the organs were for, his body count might even be equal to Mikoto/John’s
I don't think so. Shidou is probably one of the most disliked prisoners, and the only reason he received two innocent votes is because most people that voted that way were using him for what he could do to help prisoners physically.
He also canonically did not harvest organs. If you consider him doing his job as a surgeon (although he does a little more than he was supposed to) as killing someone then I guess you could consider his body count that way. He also never purposefully failed surgeries to do such a thing.
Shidou persuaded families to give up their families organs when he was on the job, which he did not have to do, which is what he considers "killing a lot of people". Legally, this is not a crime but he should not have tried to persuade them as hard as he did, it was morally wrong. In my interpretation at least, Shidou was in the same situation as the people he tried to persuade after his family got into an accident, but instead of choosing between strangers he had to choose between his kids and wife. Though it wasn't like choosing between all of them as if they were in critical condition, I assume both or one of his kids ended up braindead but his wife was in critical condition and he had to choose to either let her die, or use his childs organs to save her. He ended up choosing to use his childs organs, but his wife still ended up dying. It also seems to show that he is working on his wife, which it is generally unethical to work on your own family because it clouds judgement. It shows in the result of the surgery, his wife dies likely due to a mess up in the surgery because of this.
I feel that generally, westerners have a hard time grasping that this is what Shidou's case is like (For the most part. some of this is purely my interpretation. but he did not do the things you said he did) because taking from brain dead people are less looked down upon than in Japan. It's similar to how divorce is looked at, like in Kazui's case. I understand Shidou's case is one of the more confusing ones but it's sad to see that people still believe he did something completely illegal like that, he is not that morally corrupt
In Kotoko’s Deep Cover, How does she know everyone’s crime?? Especially the ones voted innocent??
Kotoko snuck in during all the prisoner's voice dramas, she is also incredibly perceptive since she had been researching criminals for a while + studied law for a bit
There's a gray area on if she was actually able to watch the mvs or not because we don't actually know what the contraption that extracts them looks like or how it works completely. Even if she knows the entire story it doesn't really matter to her though because she believes the end justifies the means
So there’s a rumored theory about Mahiru. The theory is that Mahiru was actually never in the relationship with the “boyfriend” at all, but was deluded into thinking she was. It would’ve explained her not being the best narrator in her first trial, she doesn’t see herself as obsessed stalker but an average girl in a relationship. As for the final picture, it’s speculated that she BROKE IN THE GUY’S HOME, becoming the final nail before the guy offed himself.
Any thoughts?
I think the idea of her being so deluded in that way is very interesting! I personally find the theory a bit flawed in regards to how he would handle the situation (im just gonna call him bf for simplicity here)
I think in the theory that she is actually dating him, the idea that he ended his own life is easy to believe because in abusive relationships like that, especially ones where you care deeply for the person even if they are abusing you, your logic is very skewed. He saw no way out of this relationship because he did love mahiru, but she was too much, and he couldnt even break up because I assume the relationship was at least a bit manipulative even if she was unaware.
But in this theory, he doesn’t know Mahiru, or at maximum he is acquainted with her. He would have no problem with taking her to court or filing for a restraining order if she did something like that, because to him she is basically a stranger. I dont think he would end his life because a stranger broke into his house, even if she had been stalking him, because there are easier solutions to the problem than that.
I hope that makes sense, that’s just what I think! The theory can work better if they were just friends too, but I still think there would be precautions he would take even then
hiya! are there any milgram theories you used to believe, but now don't think work very well? or the other way around, theories you think make sense now when you didn't think were true before? i admit i used to think yuno killed a boyfriend because surely it wouldn't just be abortion lol
OHH Yes definitely
The one you listed is one I used to believe too. It was like way back when I first got into milgram, I thought she killed one of her clients. I still thought she had an abortion because like, there's way too much evidence for it NOT to be an abortion. But I thought they would touch more on her clients in t2 (which like. they did in a way)
This next one isnt one I believed at all but when I heard about it I thought it was a cool idea, the theory that all the prisoners are from different time periods! I already spoke on why I think it isn't true but i still LOVE the idea of it; the idea of the prisoners existing as an anachronism to milgram. i think vice versa is true though.
one i believed for a MOMENT and immediately doubled back on is the theory that muu's murder was an accident. ive been a big denier that both fuuta and muu's crimes were 100% not an accident in ALMOST any capacity but I did start believing muu's could be because of that damn shoe they keep adding to so many of her official arts. the shoe was even an outlined part of the rough animation in inmf, it wasnt part of the bg😭!!! they want us to see it but I just can't believe that it was an accident because so much wouldnt make sense
hi cherry! i noticed in the undercover mv, during the part where theyre holding up their like prison info card things (dunno what its called) yuno, fuuta and amane are the only ones looking towards us. i have no idea what it could mean though.. any ideas?
I think 020308, at the beginning of t1, were all SEEN as the most confident in their mindset regarding their crime. So it could be them sort of standing their ground? (thats probably not the right saying for this but i hope you get what I mean)
Yuno decided the whole thing was a bother, and she honestly still doesn't care what happens and how we judge her.
Fuuta was hellbent on convincing us that what he did was not wrong and that he should be innocent, or the others should be there too (and yeah, I know it was him trying to convince himself too that what he was doing wasnt wrong but that's more t2-ish i think. either way it's solely how he was perceived on surface-level)
And Amane's whole mindset has already been stuck in the ground for a while
I think it's that, t1, they were the most confident in what they did. They probably would've been ok with that vote being their only vote - because they were so confident that 1. what they did would be vote innocent or 2. (in yunos case) they didnt care what they would get. So feel they are ready to face Es
I hope that makes sense this felt a little bit jumbled but X) It could definitely be more simple than that, but there's my complicated answer
How do you think Mikotos' story would be changed in a genderbend?
I think Mikoto's case could still be the exact same if he was a woman, but if I put my own spin on it then here's how I would do it!:
Because men are statistically more likely to have job-related stress because of their income or how well they perform, I think F!09 (female 09, its easier for me to write LOL) could still have work related stress, but not because of how well she does, instead, it is bc of discrimination due to gender & harassment.
And instead of John being a "representation of what Mikoto wants to BE" (i think somewhere in neoplasm John says this) John could be a representation of someone F!09 wants to console in, since women are more likely to seek emotional support from others, they dont have as high expectations as men do in office jobs, but can be discriminated against because of their performance. She would likely still have parental issues, and her relationship with her sister could still be the same (instead of hard-working brother, it's a role-model sister dynamic! To show her sister that women can still do something like this & be successful) but her parents may look down on her decision & would have rather F!09 be a simple housewife, so she is unable to speak to them about her issues to not make their judgements become true. Which is the reason John would be formed
Interesting question! If the prisoners were genderbent, would you think their crimes would be tackled differently? Especially “Male Yuno” & “Female Kazui”?
I think Kazui's case could be tackled more easily, since I'm sure being both gay and lesbian probably both have a very hard time with being accepted in society (of course there are intricacies that are specific to both, but you get what I mean)
But Yuno's would honestly be a really interesting case to see. I think Yuno being a woman is incredibly important to her case, because unlike Kazui, there are a lot of differences that men and woman face in something like sex work. I think there is more to explore about Yuno with her being a woman, but if she was a man, I think I'd definitely still find her case interesting to explore. I don't think I've ever seen representation of men that do sex work in any media. Of course, they'd definitely have to flip a lot of what happens with her crime if she was a man. I think it would be an interesting way to explore parasocial-ness in something like that area of work instead of abortion (since...she'd be a man). Like perhaps he would have a stalker or some sort of obsessiveness, but Yuno began to embrace it because it would make him feel "warm" so he would use the person, but it eventually got out of hand, so he distanced himself from the person and they may end up ending their life because of the distance.
Just an idea; im sure there's issues with that but I wanted to keep Yuno's "coldness" while changing her crime for the situation
Cherry, have you ever thought about what can be shown to us in the next Mvs? (It's more of a question to discuss ideas since it's very difficult to predict something in Milgram 😭)
Honestly, I think it would be interesting if in Haruka's MV we had Muu dressed as the Virgin Mary, something like Makima in the ending of Chainsaw Man (https://images.app.goo.gl/LmxZ4mhjwV1SFJiQ6 here is the reference image in case you don't know this work!)
We all know that Muu is like a mother figure to him, someone important that he trusts, and especially because the color that symbolizes Haruka is the same one that is often used to represent the Virgin Mary, the ultramarine
I think it would be interesting if Mahiru's third MV took place at a wedding! Because the "meaning" of a marriage is "the decision of two people to come together through a relationship that involves the body, soul, mind and heart, in the name of love" in other words "the ultimate form of love" so I think it would be very interesting to see this in her last MV (I personally would love it if in the middle of the MV everything got morbid and Mahiru turned into something like a zombie bride, thus showing her unhealthy view of love, as this is the only thing that still keeps her "alive")
I would like to know your opinion on these ideas of mine! And if you have any more ideas I would be happy if you shared them with us :D
I really like the virgin Mary idea! We'd have to see how they explore 0104s dynamic more to be sure of it, but honestly I'd really like to see a reference to that (I talked a bit about haruka's color symbolism in one of my threads before i think..) And I'm all for a Muu cameo with something like that, it's a cool scene to imagine!
I love the idea of a zombie bride! Moreso zombie than bride, but I totally see the symbolism with the whole thing. The idea of a zombie needing to eat someone's brain to keep themselves alive, resulting in the death of the other, making them become a zombie themself. And it being specifically the brain that lines up with Mahiru's case, because of her effect mentally on her boyfriend. ( Though it would likely be a confirmation of a zombies Mahiru cover with I would love but...ADDICTION X( )
I think I said something like this on a old retrospring but I really want to see more rain & snow in yuno's t3 mv, it's simple symbolism but the umbilical cover art has small raindrops on it and its bothering me SO bad because there has been 0 rain in any of her mvs (i guess tear drop but its a tear not rain..) like, her feelings were originally rain, but became colder so it turns into snow. & because 02 and 08 are one of my favorite pairings (for one of my theory docs because they add to 10...ill finish that doc one day) their parallel could be that yuno has a colder mv, and amane's is more themed around warmth/a hellish landscape. because in both of her mvs, we see the sky a lot, with rain, rainbows, & specifically clouds. but i think the hellish landscape (aka, just her t3) will show us what it would feel like to not be able to "Save" someone with her beliefs, & because she is likely going to have some sort of close relationship with fuuta, the fire/hell symbolism would make even more sense!
Hi hi cherry, I saw your answer to this one ask about prisoners dying and I wanted to add my two cents. I personally feel like characters dying would have more than just shock value. One of the core aspect of the series (imho) is how it's a social experiment, meaning that We as an audience and how we react to the events play a huge role in what makes the series what it is. What I'm trying to get at is how, the narrative itself had warned us about events that Will Likely happen if we vote certain ways (Haruka if Mu guilty, Amane if She & Shidou inno which might affect Mahiru) and people decided to ignore them. It'd just put a Lot of Weight behind our actions if the writers decided to go through with what they had warned us, basically subjecting the audience to more than just shock but also guilt and a sense of "dread" over how to vote in the final rounds, and all of this will especially impact Es as a character, since they represent us, and how they interact with the rest of the prisoners.
But a random other thing I've been thinking about is what actually happens when characters Die, because Milgram doesn't really follow Real World logic. When I checked what Jackalope said about how Mahiru would've died, he used the word "Lost" and I found it to be a pretty... interesting way to refer to death. I'm spitballing here without any evidence but what if even if characters die we still have "leftovers" of them, we still get their songs...etc but we can only "bring them back to life" if we vote them Innocent.
MM yeah I get that, I said something like that in my ask and I don't think the characters dying would be purely for shock value, but if they are throwing away the rest of the characters development & story just to kill them off, even if it is to show us our actions really do have an impact like that, it is still partially for a shock reaction. Like they would want us to be shocked that our actions could do something like that...and even if they didn't want it to be for shock value it's a really horrible way to end a characters arc. I guess it could be like "your decisions decide whether you get to see the end of their growth & story" but that feels a bit cheap, personally. I understand where they would be coming from with it though.
I like that idea though if a character does end up dying! I think I would rather their ghost be there & everyone not acknowledging them as dead, because then we would still get t3 character growth therefore we would have a proper song and vd. But that would be a whole ordeal because then we wouldnt know about the "bringing them back to life" because we dont really know that they are dead...it'd be pretty complicated to pull off where we still get to have the character they would've been in t3, which is why I'm not a huge fan of getting their story after they died
hypothetically what do you think each of the characters' favourite ice cream flavours are?
I GOT THIS
Haruka: Cotton candy is an obvious answer, but I feel like he'd also like birthday cake or a simple vanilla
Yuno: Strawberry or black cherry
Fuuta: Salted caramel
Muu: French vanilla or some sort of sherbert
Shidou: Butter pecan
Mahiru: I feel like she would like sorbet more than ice cream
Kazui: Coffee
Amane: Mint chocolate chip (she probably wouldnt eat ice cream BUT)
Mikoto: Cookies and cream
Kotoko: also wouldnt have ice cream but rocky road
Es: Pistachio or plain chocolate
cherry cherry, hi! yogurt here LMAO. what do you think of the possibility of torch and jacka infiltrating the current milgram? and also probably a stretch... but since we know theres a door for prisoner number 11 and since no one has seen inside of it, what are the changes that prison door 11 is the way to the upper floors of milgram or the door in which torch and jacka escaped from (if my memory serves me right here 😭) or even what if torch and jacka have already been caught by the milgram organisation and thats where big boss jackalope has been keeping them...?
YOGURT HII
i honestly think it's all still possible & up in the air...I think it'd be incredibly cool for them to play an important role in our current milgram but I also feel like it's unlikely that they'd incorporate a part of the novels into the current milgram's lore + we dont know how long it took jackalope to decide to make THIS milgram a.k.a "perfect milgram", it could be a pretty huge timeskip but time is all over the place in the milgram world
BUT I LOVE THE IDEA OF THE 11TH DOOR BEING THE ENTRANCE TO THE HIGHER POWER IN MILGRAM! It would be such a cool idea since it's locked & surely it'll open sometime if not at the beginning of t3 OR it being some sort of cameo for torch and jacka (i would love that if they end up not being very involved w the current lore) or probably both! the door definitely is gonna play a huge role at the finale of milgram i think
hey cherry, do you think any prisoners will die between season 2 and 3? normally i'd think no since it's a multimedia project but we DID get multiple warnings as foreshadowing in the story so far so i have mixed feelings
I think it's definitely possible t3, but t2 not so much.
While originally I didn't believe it would happen t2 because they would be loosing out on a lot of money, I think it would also be a terrible choice for the story considering whoever dies's(?) character is still growing and it will be completely stopped for a (very likely) less powerful death for some shock (i cant really see them WANTING to kill a character unless they want to go "hey we CAN kill these characters, but 1. that's a little late because now we are in the last trial and 2. i think w already have that looming over our head for t3, so i feel like anticipation for that would lessen if they killed someone off). Like I feel any sort of character growth in t3 will be 100% more powerful than a death, and we will have a more complete story of them. I've seen like "well they could release their story after milgram" but that still seems like a bad choice...I would rather interpret his story my own way one last time than get it hand-fed to me, that's why I like milgram so much anyway: because so much is up in the air and everyone can have different interpretations of certain events even if it is small, we all have our own unique way we perceive the characters because of what we see.
So in a nutshell: I think it definitely could & probably will happen t3, because it will be meaningful and powerful. I don't think anyone will die in t2 because from a story-writing perspective that is one of the worst things they could do right now
hi cherry!! i was thinking about prisoner parallels... specifically parallels of the prisoner numbers opposite(?) to each other (0110, 0209, 0308 etc.) and i was able to think of something for each, but its all very basic surface level stuff...
02 uses her job to relieve stress ("reloading the warmth") while 09s job causes stress, 04s murder stems from her failure to please people while 07s is all about how he had to lie in order to please people (?? not too sure about this one), 10 is all about protecting the weak while 01 IS the weak (and he killed someone weak), 05 killed FOR the ones he loved while 06 "killed" the one she loved, 03s crime is inflicting punishment while 08s is defending herself from punishment (also how often religion is associated with 03 is interesting, and also in bring it on 03 mentions making others apologize while 08 is the one apologizing repeatedly throughout magic, these 2 are my faves so i have more to say about them.. they are so doomed t3)
theres probably more to say but im not smart enough to think of anything else.... so i wanted to know if you had anything to add!! especially about 0407 parallels cause im really unsure about that one...
I love these! I remember thinking about these a couple of months ago!
For 0407 one that I immediately thought of is their acceptance in society, Muu is an outlier because she is what others want to be, and she is happy with what she was born into (wealth, good looks, popularity). Kazui is an outlier because his true self is looked down upon, he is unhappy with what he was born to be. But Muu flaunted what she was born with & had rumors spread about her because she was so popular (im not sure if this is why she got bullied, just an idea), and so she lost her acceptance. Kazui kept to himself what he was born into, so he kept his acceptance in society.
02 is self-employed considering her type of job, considering that, she causes her own coldness. when you think about it, what she does is a lot like an addiction: she wanted to feel more warmth, but every time she "reloads" it, she becomes more resistant to what causes the warmth, and in the end, she will be perpetually cold because she became so resistant to the warmth. mikoto is the other side of the coin: he isnt his own boss, he's probably the complete opposite of that. his entire life is controlled by his boss. and instead of becoming resistant to the stress, like how yuno becomes resistant to the warmth, it only piles more and more onto him. so i guess in a summary: mikoto has and overload of what he DOESNT want, and yuno has almost none of what she DOES want. it's more of a connection but what i said about their jobs is the parallel!
i think what you said about 0110 sums up what i wouldve said! to add on a little: haruka is the weak, but hurts the weak, so therefore he could be considered strong but not by his own terms. kotoko is the strong and hurts the strong, but she was weak in the past so she could be considered weak because of what happened to her
i agree with 0506! there's way more for them considering they're an actual prisoner pair, but i think the main parallel i think of for them is the one you said
i love 0308 parallels so much, they're one of my favorite dynamics and pair!! one i can think of is that 03 controls the mass that follows him, he has a lot of freedom but it's taken away at the end when he oversteps and killcheroy takes her own life. 08 has NO control in her life due to her mother, but that changes when she kills her, that's probably the first time (besides her helping the cat) that she did what SHE wanted. so 03 gets a taste of what it feels like to be trapped (like how he feels at the end of backdraft) and 08 feels what it's like to control and choose her own actions
i hope these make sense!! i love parallels and connections
