I think a lot of it is natural, but you can absolutely learn to be better at it. You become funnier by watching/listening to people and what they find funny. You can watch stand-up comedians (for example) and see what the audience is receptive to. The timing of jokes, how they tell stories, the tone, the body language, and how you can adapt those into your own personal style. Having charisma also helps, which some people develop over time as they gain more experience and confidence in life. None of this can rly be contrived overnight, it is a learning process
