did you know that in Sumo, the lower ranked gyoji (referees) must be barefoot during matches? only the higher ranked gyoji are allowed to wear socks, and only the highest ranked gyoji who can call matches in the grand division are allowed to wear sandals
more sports should require referees to earn sock and shoe privileges
