So I read something I saw about her past about her experience as a Coordinator, which was really sad about how much she was pressured to meet the tough expectations of her Grandmother. But does that mean she would dislike Pokémon Coordinators? Or does she only dislike what her Grandmother did to her?
(Coordinator era lore omg...) Even when she failed, Nellcher doesn't hate Coordinators and Contests themselves. She despises her grandmother and what she made her go through. To hate and despise is a strong sentiment but we're talking about a young girl who was forced, guilt tripped and neary mentally broken to follow into a career she didn't want to.
But still, Nell would rather watch from afar on a screen than to step a foot onto the Contest buildings, walking into one would only make her relive that exact moment where she felt the most miserable.
And a bit extra lore:
Years later, her son Nino takes an interest in being Coordinator and she encourages him to follow that dream, Nellcher knew what it meant to follow a dream and despite what she lived, she would never stop her child.
(And Nino does become a Master Coordinator but he willingly gives up his title to be his Dad's lab assitant ;; )
