Thoughts on tardigrades
What animals would Doc and Rinu be You don't have to settle on just one for each either
i like invertebrates a lot but i do feel like theyre mammals and probably felines… perhaps my cat bias but it feels right.
My friend suggested civet for rinu once upon a time and i didnt know about them but i think it makes sense. doc has pallas cat energy.
i think in general traits, doc is withdrawn and cynical, but not hostile—not the kind of animal that can’t get along with other animals, but one that generally chooses not to. likely to stick with one mate or small group. primary defense is hiding, running away, or appearing threatening; doc’s rocket launcher always makes me think that she’s kind of crappy at fighting and just chooses the biggest most aggressive thing to get it over with quickly LOL.
with the name pun (doku) and motif i think it would make sense for her to be poisonous.
because she’s also like kind of popular or a celebrity i think an iconic, cute-seeming animal makes sense. the kind of animal that shows up in memes, and you think, “so cute, i want to keep it as a pet,” and then you find out it is a vicious predator and not cuddly at all.
so it’s hard to think of anything that isn’t a wild cat, and since pallas are grumpy-looking, it’s an easy sell.
i think of rinu as being more well-adjusted and social than doc, but also more cunning and not above manipulation. where doc would run away or fight in a conflict, rinu would rather find a way “above” it. she’s physically capable of fighting but it isn’t her strategy.
i could see her as an animal that uses mimicry to blend into a pack, or one that has a mutualistic relationship with other species. she might also be a kind of parasite HAHA.
though i think theyre similar heights and fairly tall (around 5’9”) i can’t imagine them as large animals.
Anyways! my thoughts. thank you for asking :)
𓅓 YOU JUST GOT CRONINED!!! send this to 3 others to CRONIN THEM!
what's your cat's name and if you don't have a cat what would you name it if you did
My first cat was named Pi (like the number), my second Romeo. If I got a new cat, I don't know what I'd name them yet... I name cats (and everything else) very much on impulse/vibes.
I don't remember exactly why she was Pi; I think it was because she was a calico tabby and looked a bit like s'mores, but I also wanted something kind of nerdy. I was really into Gravity Falls and I thought about naming her "Ford" I think too. With Romeo, when he was a kitten he was REALLY affectionate, so I named him that since he was "a little lover". Now he's more standoffish and aggressive, but that rather suits "Romeo" doesn't it...
My general naming convention for animals is wanting something that sounds a little "unique"/isn't "Oreo" but also isn't necessarily trying too hard. I think I stray away from names that indicate their animal-ness. It should be a weird enough name that you'd be a little surprised for it to be your human friend, but it would be plausible. My dad has taken in a cat who was named "Mr. Whiskers"; I would not name a cat that unless it would be very funny. But it is cute.
What does your soul look like?
is this a bot question or is this a question from my followers? I dig it I just am surprised. Anyways. I think soul implies a kind of feelings-ness or centrality that I currently lack. but my whole system-shape is a lot of rectangles that are connected to each other and stuff buzzes in between. I'll try to draw it. I also would say that the cat I draw is like, a very "soul-like" thing.
the class is ok i just didnt sleep enough. But i wasnt tired so i wrote notes for the whole thing i was just honk shoo honk shoo (scribbling)
hi index ur a pleasure to have on the tl :)
How did you get into making music? Like what program did you start with?
SMILES AT YOU AUTISTICALLY
I started with Famitracker when I was 12 or 13 because I was in a big chiptune phase. I downloaded a bunch of trackers but I think FT was the only one I liked and/or understood.
https://indexx.bandcamp.com/album/the-oldies-maybe-goodies I only made about 3 songs which you can hear here. I wasn't very good at it and I was confused by a lot of parts, but I really loved how chiptune demonstrated so clearly how signal processing creates sounds electronically. It was intuitive and magical to me in a way that analog instruments weren't, and set me on the path of being into electronic music permanently. the first time i met my dads girlfriend i just infodumped to her about how famitracker instruments work.
i cannot stress how much i did not know ANYTHING about music and music theory aside from the fact that notes existed and had durations. it was pretty much only through signal processing/acoustics that i actually started to Care about music as more than a listener.
I was still super into vocaloid and utau, so I think I was playing with utau from like 13-15, doing covers in the hardest and most inconvenient possible ways, and fantasized a bit about making my own music but didn't know much about it. i wrote lyrics and had melodies in my head but never succeeded in getting stuff out there. i think i got a ukulele around when i was 15 but only did covers and was pretty undisciplined (I still want to learn uke, but well, I'm sooo busy)
I got into hardcore music around when i was 14 or 15 and wanted to make my own but wasn't sure exactly how. I was still making sketches in famitracker but never really finished anything. I played with Sunvox to increase my range of instruments but found it really confusing. I tried Audacity but realized how bullshit that was LOL.
Some wips from that time (includes a little FL too) https://soundcloud.com/indexx/super-rough-wip-compilation-check-comments
I got access to FL studio around 2017? And started playing with it there. I actually did a couple more traditional compositions, video game esque stuff and trying to make the songs I had written lyrics for. I found excuses to make songs in my classes and did a few LOL.
Then I finished my first official breakcore song with dance dance degrade (https://soundcloud.com/indexx/dance-dance-degrade-degrade) , and the rest was history...
FL was slightly intimidating at first and I think I put it down after trying like One or Two things with it, but relative to the others I can't remember the process of learning it because it's significantly more intuitive. now I'm like, A Real Producer, and can teach other people stuff.
If you're interested or curious, I'm happy to advise on getting started with FL Studio. Im also opinionated design engineer so like i can talk through "how to find the right music tool for you" and shit like that to some extent. Smiles. thank you for asking this question
hi idnexzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (sleeping in class)
Hello my anonymous patron I am sorry you are tired!! have you been sleeping alright or are you just naturally tired? I wish you restfulness in the context where restfulness is good and fun instead of stressful and risky. In the meantime (casting a spell that gives you the energy to endure class)
if class sucks and is stupid you should do what you want but if class is important you should go focus on it instead of little old index who will be waiting here patiently for your return. smiles
favorite color of cat
i love all cat's so it's hard to choose but i think i have a preference for cats who are one or two colors over many. Though there are exceptions (my sweet baby pi was a calico tabby of some kind and looked like smores... toasted marshmallow..)
grey, black, and white cats are probably my favorites. I think tuxedo cats are delightful but I think that if I were thinking of the platonic ideal of a tuxedo cat, it's a lot harder to pull off. High risk, high reward. Y'know? Most tuxedo cats are relatively unremarkable (Though all cats are the worlds specialest creatures. Please make no mistake.) but they have the benefit of having sock feet so they're kind of winning.
if u walked into yr kitchen late at night which would scare u the most to see... a skeleton or some guy or a shadow figure... answer wisely
I think a skeleton would be extremely cool. A skeleton is a known enemy. I mean, an animated skeleton, up and about, is rather novel, but I can sense its weaknesses. I can see what it's got in its hands.
A guy is scary because if he got in then probably there's a vulnerability in my house. There could be more guys. And guys are unpredictable. But (gokushuufudou voice) How many guys can one guy take at once? I can kick a weak guys ass and probably use my charisma and charm to wiggle my way out of any other guys in my way. So really the threat is neutralized.
A shadow guy is completely unknown to me. The shadow guy is likely benign, but what powers could it have? why is it here? I think that would be the scariest.
when I was younger I had a period when I was seeing shadow figures, so I started to give them names and treat them like characters so I could feel more in control of them. i was always very afraid of supernatural and paranormal things, but they tend to be nonthreatening, just ominous. pros and cons.
hi how are you doing? :-)
oh wise index, whats the best way to prepare eggs
It depends on what you want..... The versatility of egg is its power.
I think the most fun way to have an egg is poached in eggs benedict. you should have cayenne with your benny also. and poach them with a little vinegar.
but the easiest thing to do with egg is use it to add a little protein to a meal by just scrambling it in there. i would do this a lot, rice and beans and veggie and a little egg. And cheese. cheese + egg is always good, apologies to the haters and/or lactose intolerant
fried egg on top of burger is also an underrated way to have egg.
my delicate constitution doesn't allow me to have eggs for breakfast so i don't have many egg-centric meals. OH! I just remembered tamago sushi that shit rules too. ysee.. how could i choose.
I am not that good at cooking, or maybe it's that I don't have a lot of patience for it, so I don't prepare egg very often. I'm reasonably good at fried egg and scrambled egg, and I think I have successfully hard boiled and poached. But maybe I should become an eggmaster. what is your favorite egg preparation?
bollocks
