- El twitter ao3 has some BANGER fics, including a very big wrny soulmate AU i have yet to read bc i have zero focus atm. very tasty, very big brain, is big on trans!lyney which is a W for me personally
- Ereana twitter ao3 has a wide variety of wrny, both on ao3 and on twitter where she takes requests once in a while! definitely check her stuff out.
- Alex twitter ao3 wrote a phenomenal fic that is considered pretty much a wrny staple in the community at this point. if you haven't read it yet, you probably should. right now. and he draws as well!
- Cole twitter may not publish things all that much but they cook up some very tasty things from time to time and has some excellent brainrot.
I can't think of more writers off the top of my head but there Are more out there that are worth checking out for sure!

Artists:
- Dorian twitter has a GORGEOUS style and renders the most delicious R18 wrnys in amazing detail. he puts the transgender beam on max in all their drawings and i love it very much.
- if you want cutesy stuff, look no further than Kanon twitter. take a look at her adorable (sometimes silly) sketches and your heart will be a molten puddle of emotions within seconds. her fully rendered stuff is art style envy-inducing, too.
- Walking the line between sweet and spicy is mako twitter with some excellent sketches and fully rendered works that'll blow your socks off. I'm having big art style envy, at least.
- Cam's twitter wrioneys are THE SHIT. enough said. (even more art style envy)
- Nine twitter makes some WONDERFUL wrnys as well, and is also a very fun person to interact with.
- if you're still looking for spicy wrioneys, you gotta check out Emu twitter. her expressions especially are to die for, i love how she makes characters emote.

hi anon!! i think it really depends on what it is wrio is angry about and how it has to do with lyney. if it's something lyney does that genuinely bothers him, he may try to talk it through with lyney if he feels it's important, if it's something he can fix. if he's just annoyed by something lyney does, or knows that his annoyance is a bit petty or unjustified, he may be snappy with lyney or give him the silent treatment until he's over it or until lyney asks him to spill it (because lyney absolutely does notice when wrio acts differently around him than usual and needs to get to the bottom of it). i think he could become pretty intense if he's angry about something not connected to what lyney does but maybe something that happened to him, for example if lyney got hurt during a mission or he got mistreated one way or another. he'd be working up a fury, getting shouty and looking like he wants to punch something, and it takes a while for lyney to grasp that wrio isn't angry /at him/ for not having handled things better but at the circumstances that put lyney in that situation. i think wrio only gets genuinely angry if there's someone blatantly disregarding his rules or moral code in front of him, or if there's a problem he can't solve. they're completely opposite scenarios where either wrio uses his anger to reinforce his stance, or he loses himself in it a little when he can't direct it /at/ something specifically. i think that's when he turns to boxing to let out the pent-up energy, so he doesn't end up channeling it into the wrong things or getting someone hurt. but as long as lyney and wrio communicate like the adults they are (which might need some work when they just get close lol) there shouldn't be much reason for wrio to get angry at him, and if there /is/ something he's mad about wrio knows to handle that emotion carefully.

wehhh that hurts but you're also so right 😭😭 it destroys me that he's probably never truly felt loved or cared for because of his past, he's so used to keeping people at an arm's length. sure, he's in a better place now, he has people who care about him and like being around him, but i feel like wrio doesn't count on them sticking around. people like clorinde or neuvillette won't betray him or anything, but they'll probably leave at some point. they'll probably get tired of him at some point. who would keep seeking out a guy who holes himself up in a dingy underwater prison? he's probably never had the space to explore and develop romantic feelings, so i think getting closer to lyney really throws a wrench in whatever peace of mind he's found over the years. he wrestles so much with his sense of self, what it means to have someone get closer to him, what he has to offer, if he's not too broken to be so intimate with someone in the first place. i think lyney, while not completely familiar with wriothesley's past, knows the feeling very well, and they could help each other navigate those feelings of inadequacy and doubt and fear if they actually allowed themselves to open up about them. they could push each other through that rough patch, care for each other so aggressively there's no room for that doubt. but they'd have to actually be vulnerable about it, which is uh. scary for people with trust issues, lol. the mortifying ordeal of being known and all that. while wrio stumbles over this, i think he's also old and experienced enough to recognise that he should grab hold of whatever happiness he can get, and that being scared would only hold him back. he'd still be scared, but he'd also think lyney is worth being scared for, for a little while. he's willing to take the risk, where maybe a handful of years back he would've closed himself off without hesitation. i believe in him, and i think anyone who sees how wrio falls for lyney also does. those who are lucky enough to have gotten close(-ish) to wrio root for him so much bc wrio truly deserves the happiness and care lyney could give him if he allowed him to :')

wahhh anon this angst is hurting my heart 😭😭 it's hurting so good tho. and i know that pain, of wanting to get to know someone better because you're genuinely developing a soft spot for them but they're too closed off to give you much of a glimpse of what's going on in their mind. and lyney only expands that issue in his mind: surely it's because he's fatui, or because they clashed in the past, that wrio doesn't trust him. surely his other friends DO know what kind of stuff he carries around, he just doesn't want to share with lyney. maybe he's closed off because LYNEY has been closed off, and he thought lyney wasn't worth the effort of opening up to bc lyney wouldn't respond positively anyway. he must think lyney is too immature, that he's becoming clingy, like a child hanging onto someone's leg. trying to get closer to wrio amplifies every insecurity that lyney's ever harboured: that he's not worth it, that there's nothing valuable about him to be loved, that he's lied and schemed so much there's nothing genuine left behind. it makes him want to pull back, perform one of his vanishing tricks and pretend they'd never met, but not getting to see wrio again would hurt just as much as knowing that wrio would never love him the way he was beginning to love wrio.

i hope people don't mind me tacking my own thoughts onto theirs but i just can't help it, you guys' ideas spark my brain in just the right way, haha. thank you for sharing them with me!!! 💖💖

honestly with the state he's in, wriothesley probably thinks he's dreaming. he has a fever, wacky hallucinations are not outside the realm of possibilities. like, just imagine it: you have been battling through an illness spike and promptly ignoring you're not feeling well, then your secret crush/frenemy tries to wrestle you into taking a break (which goes way easier than it should have, probably due to the illness thing) and as a cherry on top he KISSES YOU AS A WAY TO MAKE YOU TAKE YOUR MEDICINE. i think wrio would be completely lost for words. every thought just exits his brain and he follows lyney's instructions without complaint, promptly passing out as soon as he's in a decent resting position. lyney has to laugh at his reaction: if it was this easy to make the duke submit to him, he would've done it sooner 😏

i think what happens next depends on what wrioney's relationships is at. did lyney use the medicine kiss as an excuse to do what he's always wanted to do but hadn't dared/found the right moment for? or did he just use the most ridiculous way he could think of to make wriothesley stop resisting? would it be a sort of love confession from lyney? would wrio read it as such? i can imagine wrio waking up after a long sleep and his fever has gone down, wondering if what he vaguely remembers happening was just a dream. would he feel comfortable enough around lyney to bring it up again? and if he does, would lyney acknowledge it? would he confess to his actions or brush them off by telling wrio he must have imagined it? this could have serious consequences to how their relationship develops depending on how they deal with the medicine kiss afterwards. if they end up brushing it off, will it come back to bite them one day? would wrio be upset with lyney for trying to cover it up?would it cause a rift between them? oh, what a delicious scenario you've painted, anon! so many possibilities!!

oh yes definitely!! the fact that wrio saw through lyney once doesn't mean lyney will allow him to do it again. he'll amp up the charade, smiling sickeningly sweet smiles and speaking words dripping with honey and venom, and that only motivates wriothesley more to rip that mask off of lyney. he'll try to get a rise out of lyney just so he can get a glimpse of what lyney really thinks and feels, and he almost feels relieved whenever lyney lets his facade slip just a bit. the more wrio pokes and prods, the more lyney covers up, to the point that it becomes suffocating for the both of them.

i think what would eventually do the trick is wrio being genuinely sweet and kind. instead of the banter and the jokes, he'll say something profound about lyney to his face. the genuineness of it shakes lyney so much he stops pretending for a little while, feeling like it's only just to be truthful in return. it makes sense, of course. provocations would only make lyney clam up more. honesty would build trust, and trust, however fragile, would lower lyney's walls. obviously lyney draws them right back up after the sweet moment has passed, but now wriothesley knows what is possible, and so does lyney, in a way. and while i think lyney's charm and charisma are amped up in his everyday performance, they're still core traits of lyney's personality. they're just more muted and genuine around the people he actually trusts: they're not acting as a shield anymore.
