I often think about the time when Freminet tried to tell Lyney that it's okay to not wear a mask all the time, and how Lyney denied him, how they had an argument about it. I would like to know how that argument went, and what it meant for Lyney when Freminet never again asked that of him. What must have been like for Lyney to push Freminet away like that? Aside from Lynette, I wonder if this is a pattern that Lyney follows around everyone, when he allows for cracks to be seen in his facade, only to deny and refuse when someone takes notice and offers him a place to let down his guard. Maybe his relationship with Wrio started out that way too, Wriothesley seeing the cracks and asking him to take out the mask, and Lyney panicking at the prospect someone else realising all the weight he has put on himself, shutting Wrio down the moment he brings it up, hoping for him to take the hint like Freminet did, but somewhere in his heart still wanting to let go.

you're asking the same questions i have, anon 🥲 it's such an interesting character moment for lyney!! it's funny bc i actually wanted to touch upon this argument and similar situations when it comes to lyney being vulnerable around others in a fic i started once, but the question is whether I'll actually finish the thing one day, lol. i still really like the ideas i have for it so hopefully..!!! and god the way lyney operates here is so familiar, like he wants people to notice he's struggling because some part of him wants help but whenever he's asked about it he waves away people's concerns because he doesn't want to be a burden... i think wrio would be one of the few people who are able to break through lyney's shields because he's blunt and confident enough not to let lyney drop the issue so easily. just like the confrontation they had in the fortress, he's gonna keep poking and prodding until lyney tells him what he actually wants/needs, and then wrio will give it to him 🥹💕 or lyney will just stop resisting and lean on wrio more because he insists lyney do so and, well, it can't be that bad if wrio offers.... he feels guilty about it at first but surprise surprise, it actually helps to lean on someone once in a while!! gah i love thinking about those two actually having vulnerable moments together bc it's So not in their nature, and them having those moments means they're making progress with letting people in :') thank you for your thoughts, anon! ahh my inbox is so busy today, I'm very happy and grateful 💖💖💖
