i just saw a video of someone making fun of a person for saying they’re 25% indonesian and the said “which indonesian person has blue eyes be fr” like there’s many wasians that have blue eyes…? my stepdad has darker skin and dark brown hair but the brightest blue eyes known to man and he’s indonesian too
Tbh considering i’m white presenting n it’s hard every now and then to see that im wasian, im just wondering maybe its better to just call myself white instead of a POC/BIPOC, sigh idk.
unfortunately, a lot of people are like that. all that stuff with "you don't even look / act / etc indonesian" or whatever. i get hit with that stuff a lot because of my accent and not actually being born in indonesia, despite both of my parents being fully indonesian. i think it's stupid that your ethnicity is primarily defined by your looks, rather than your actual history and heritage. idk.
