If you had a time machine, would you rather visit the past or the future, and what era would you choose?

The past, because I regret many things I do before

I'd love to visit the far past personally, say.... the stone age? just wanna see what it was like to live back then. I know the living conditions and the struggles were much harder, but it's the idea of what it was like to live in the past that fascinates me.
