₊˚⊹ — i thought maybe we should take a break from the current theme of perception — it’s been kind of a lot, don’t you think?

so, despite the word ‘specific’ being in the title, it actually… isn’t. sorry! it is random however (a bit).

i have a serious but open question— and you’re free to find it cringe, or embarrassing, or to think i’m trying to ‘do something deep’— but for my own sake, i’d like you to know that i’m not doing this to sound special or to get super long answers; it just interests me.

why do you use this website? why do you stay?

you can say because you’re bored, you have nothing better to do, or because it’s entertaining —those are all valid reasons— but the interesting bit is for those who have ulterior reasons.

i’m sure a lot of you are familiar with how fast people come and go on here. in less than three hours someone can go from active and known by name to simply… gone. isn’t that unusual?

so, if you have a reason, why haven’t you left yet?

for some of you i’d guess you have yet to encounter a specific reason to leave.

like i said, maybe you just use it for fun, as a social media.

for some of you, though, i’m sure —rather, i KNOW— you’ve dealt with some pretty rough things on here!

things like harassment, bullying, and even hate crimes. and yet you’re here.

do you simply think it’s worth staying for despite that? or maybe you feel stuck, or you’re so used to it that you just don’t want to leave?
