idk if they’re tips and tricks so much as they are just.. steps… of how i Surf. but i’m a really picky reader so i filter the shit out of the tag and that helps me out so much.

i have like a Tier List of filters. there are 7 things i ALWAYS exclude because i will not,, under Any circumstances,, read them. which is a great place to start instead of just scrolling through everything new that gets posted because that can be a lot (and not in a good way!) so if you have a list of, like, “hard no”s, excluding all of those things is a great place to start. you can also filter things like language to only include those you can read, and if you only read completed fics you can filter for completion status too. usually i do well enough with just my 7 filters, but if not then i have Many More to put in place and see if that helps.

i use the “exclude” filters more than the include ones too bc i find that it’s cleaner that way, but if you’re looking for something specific and you search that tag combined with the things you’ve excluded, 99% of the time you Will find something. maybe not new but you’ll see it and go “omg riiiight i forgot about that fic!” and then you’ll reread it and you’ll love your life…

i also have a list of authors that i can never get bored of and when there’s an ao3 drought i go reread all their works. i’m serious . i reread every single one and i enjoy it every single time. AND also while we’re on the subject of authors you trust, usually if you like what someone writes you’ll like what they read as well, so i sometimes creep on people’s bookmarks and see what’s going on there. you can filter them too if you need to and it’s a really easy way of finding hidden gems or stuff you might’ve missed before.

but if ur not a picky enough reader to bother with the filtering… then yea probably just rawdog it. you’re gonna have a really tough time though cuz… well if you’ve tried scrolling through it without any filters i’m sure you’ve seen that the experience is not Pleasant but! occasionally you find gold!!! maybe just do the bare minimum of filtering, which to me is the languages and the relationship(s). also completion status if you care about that.

i think that’s all the tips i can give.. sometimes there’s just nothing to read and it is what it is and we must suffer until we are Saved. good luck my friend…

AND THEN THEY BOTH. they’re both working overtime.. maybe preparing for Some Very Important Work Thing that will really help them out in getting the promotion. u know. and jisung is like ugh go the fuck home i don’t want to be Near u and minho is like no U go the fuck home and they’re both very annoying and insufferable. okay yes great. so they’re working overtime it’s been a few hours and minho is getting really uncomfortable and his patches are itchy so he doesn’t think about it when he rips them off bc it feels so much better that way and anyway the office is empty. surely it’ll be fine. until jisung smells him and he’s like waht the fuck is that smell.

and then two minutes too late he realizes he is WAY too into minho’s scent and it is. painfully obvious in his own scent. and minho,, obviously,,, notices as well. but surprise!!!! he’s also way too into it. and then super awkward tense scene where both of them smell Extremely Horny but neither of them are going to say anything first and then jisung says something stupid in an attempt to regain his dignity and minho says something even More stupid because he is thinking with his dick (both of them in a very useless pathetic “ur typing is too loud shut the fuck up” “why don’t u come here and give me something else to do w my hands” type of thing u know)

jisung absolutely goes over there. very Scary and Threatening™️ but ends up on minho’s lap in three seconds tops. but fear knot he will still be telling minho he stinks as he is rubbing his face all over minho’s neck and licking his sweat off etc. Something like that. they will pretend to hate each other as they fuck nasty. back in The Day lilacs used to be called magical bc they smelled so good and were believed to have “intoxicating” (yea) effects,, mainly in a way where the scent is calming and relieves anxiety. NOW picture a flower shop au… rubs my hands together. florist jisung, obviously.

minho shows up one day bc he needs to buy flowers for. I don’t know. something!! so he googles Flower Store Near Me and finds jisungs which has GREAT reviews bc not only is he great at his job but also! it smells good in there! amazing vibes!!!!! i don’t have too much for how their relationship develops and how they end up going out together (because i guess one of them simply asking the other on a date is impossible.. whatever). all that matters is that minho goes repeatedly because he finds jisung so endearing <3 and then they’re end up dating.

anyway jisung’s scent is lilac ☺️☺️ and minho gets addicted to it (obviously) and does NOT know how to consume(???) it responsibly. he completely loses self control whenever jisung is near him, like face shoved in his neck, licking his scent glands like he’s trying to drink it, refusing to move away and so on. whenever he’s annoyed he’s like “jisung get over here” so he can be comforted immediately just from smelling him… sighs. also in this universe jisung NEEDS to have scent glands on his inner thighs. for reasons i cannot disclose in a public space (minho likes eating him out and spends a lot of time between his legs). just constantly scenting him… constantly scent drunk…

also like what if jisung is so used to his scent he’s not aware of how strong it gets sometimes and minho has no clue about The Alleged Side Effects so the first time he scents him (sexual) jisung’s scent is going craaaazy and he doesn’t even notice and minho is like omg.. he’s so into this… and doesn’t realize he should probably Pull Away and stop mauling jisung’s neck before- WAIT WHAT IF JISUNG ACCIDENTALLY SENDS HIM INTO A RUt ok no i’m getting carried away.
