ALSO sorry again for bothering you again but I was thinking about the slight parallels between ruan mei and alhaitham and thought it was interesting— both had and lost parents who were scientists/scholars, both were raised by loving relatives, and there’s some sort of emphasis on their grandmothers in both backstories. I just find it neat how there’s similarities in their upbringing and how their character/perspectives compare to each other now :)
