thank you sm for elaborating, i completely misinterpreted your intent in the original tweet 😭😭 i fear this is an issue so deeply rooted into english speaking fandom you'd need extensive surgery to remove it. we're all here to have fun but it's very upsetting to see lowkey bigoted things people say sometimes while playing them off as jokes :,)

so, this is something i wanted to clarify from my answer yesterday too but forgot. i think saying someone is gay for funsies and all is a harmless, but we all know that a huge amount of people are convinced they’re gay (for funsies and also kinda serious) and use those aspects as “proof” which is where my issue with it begins. of course there are queer people with those traits, but they’re not the only ones, and the ones i saw more often growing up in never get represented
