all the focus on fic numbers always comes from ppl who are kpop stans so i think the obsession with numbers as a sign of success is why they're like this.
hmmm idk if that's true really, i've seen plenty come from people who seem to show no interest in kpop. and i do somewhat get it, because i've been in fandoms where 95% of the characters are women and i go to look for fic and somehow m/f and m/m have triple what the f/f does and it's like ?????????????? ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND. but also they really need to understand that you don't want to force people to write it just for the sake of numbers. i'd rather have a handful of good, long femslash fics than 100 short chatfics or whatever.
