Sorry for the non-fandom related asks but I love your feminist/political analysis, do you have any recommendations to learn about the history of various movements and whatnot?

don't apologize bc i'm glad people actually like it instead of unfollowing en masse lmao

honestly tho there's so much and i don't know if anything really gives a full, unbiased, thorough overview of it all? because it not only spans hundreds of years, but the entire world, and like, for example, working class early 1900s feminism is going to be a little different from 1970s black lesbian american feminism which is going to be different from 2000s african feminism, etc... so my genuine recommendation and how i've kinda approached it myself is like this:

1) look for general overviews and treat them as an outline of what to look for. based on those, dig deeper into specific decades, countries, and movements. based on that, pick out key issues or names to look up for any essays/books by those women.

2) always keep an open mind and be willing to read women you don't agree with, because there's probably going to be a lot, but understanding all of it is key to understanding any movement or part of history.

also i dug up when i recc'd some specific reading: https://curiouscat.live/plumeriade/post/1305463156

if you have any specific interests (and whether you're totally new to reading about this or already started but just want more info) i am happy to help point you to some of those! but yeah i think just in general it's soooo broad it's hard to narrow down lol.

i hope that still helps tho!
