(same Ni*ewaka anon) There is actually multiple theories that the real T*kiyuki had fled successfully (someone else took his place at his execution) and had children in Ise, with some of his kids names being Yukiuji, Tokimune, and Takamochi . The only thing unknown is if he had a wife. Also, there are some JP people who are claiming to be descendants of T*kiyuki for multiple reasons (but also JPtwt is kind of arguing on whether or not if they're really blood descendants, or if people back then just took the Hojo name to add a sense of 'prestige' to their family name bc the Hojo clan was one of the most famous clans at the time, which wasn't uncommon)
Either way I just don't want T*kiyuki to end up with a wife or have children. I'll be happy if the manga author took the tragic theory over it. I really like that T*kiyuki found friends and family with his retainers, which is why watching Ay*ko and Sh*zuku wanting to be his future concubines really pained me. I do know there is a good chunk of JP fans wanting T*kiyuki x Ay*ko x Sh*zuku to be canon as well, so me as a JP-Eng fan who doesn't vibe with het ships is a bit alienating.
ohhhhh i didn't know that! yeah, i know claiming lineage (or exaggerating a vague relation i.e. a distant cousin suddenly becomes a direct descendant lol) is not unheard of at all so i guess that wouldn't be surprising. i really don't want to see tokiyuki die but i also really don't want het and now i have Two Fears 😭😭 but i just really don't get the vibe that either one is gonna be canon. but who knows. i really get you on appreciating him finding friendship though, and i really hate when any girls in a battle team Develop Feelings bc why can't they just be there because they believe in the cause / are talented / etc? which is why i hope that they're just little crushes and we're able to see shizuku and ayako grow out of their crushes. 🙏
the info about jp fandom is interesting... i only just started following more twitter users and i mostly follow by ship, though i do general fandom searches in jp too... so i've seen one ot3 shipper but not many. i don't think i have everrrr seen that happen in manga tho lol (aside from the already-established multiple-wives situation for uzui in kny anyway). i can imagine it's very alienating though :( just think about how tokiyuki has only ever held hands while sharing a bed with 1 person and it wasn't either of the girls!!!
