hi lex! i hope you’re okay! i have a question for you and everyone. does anyone know this taekook fic where jungkook is a pretty famous author and seokjin is his publisher (i think) and seokjin makes jungkook go to this cabin near the woods where jungkook eventually meets taehyung? and i think taehyung is a crow hybrid? and one of the tags was “hunger as a metaphor for desire”. the vibes of the fic were very mysterious and spooky and the cabin was definitely near a forest. i remember these details pretty clearly. please lmk if you have/find the link 🙏

seriously tho nothing they wrote is true!! i found this account when i was in a really low place, feeling like there was no point writing in this fandom because people only read what their friends write or works by big names. you showed me that even if that's true for some, there are LOADS of lovely readers out there who don't care about stats/author profiles and who will give small stories and authors a chance. you read and rec things that make you genuinely happy and in the process you make writers feel seen & supported & excited to be in this community. your passion and kindness kept me from giving up writing, and your account helped me remember that stats mean nothing, it's all about the lovely readers along the way. that anon must be blind or bitter if they can't recognize how wonderful you are. thanks for being you, lexie!

no need to fight anyone, your words and support are enough for me. the things you just said to me are genuinely so special - sometimes it can feel disheartening for writers to approach a fandom as big as the bts one, where it feels like at times you’re just shouting into the void but i always think that every story (in this case, since we’re talking about fics) will find its intended audience at some point. some of them will be lucky enough to find it by themselves, others will need a little push from a couple of people but then it’ll be alright! i’m so glad you’ve found it in yourself to keep writing and sharing your stories! and i wish you only the best of readers out there, you deserve them!

I guest that anon is living in negative space because you’ve been doing the exact opposite of what they said, for as long as I’ve known your rec account, which was from the beginning, pretty much. I’m not sure what the right words are but I want to assure you that you are the realest, most authentic person in this community. You see something you like, so you recommend it. i wish words were able to explain the big huge smile you’ve put on my face! knowing this means so much to me - being online can be very tricky, especially in big fandoms as this one and it can become hard reaching out to people and establish some kind of dialogue, of relationship. being received with so much warmth is all i could have ever hoped and more!!!

As a small writer I’m wishing all those anons a very happy life away from you and your account :((( I’m so happy to see you post/gush about fics that make /you/ happy [ regardless of what writer they’re from or what the fics stats look like ]!!! Like honestly I enjoy reading your comments about the fics as much as the stories themselves!! You’re seriously so sweet and honestly you don’t have to rec fics/maintain this account at all, but you do!!! Which is already a labor of love and I appreciate all the work you put into it :DDD

Also anon(s) there are accounts that specialize in lesser known writers/works if that’s what you’re /really/ looking for… maybe go follow those accounts instead of going out of your way to be rude to someone who is graciously posting about fics they find joy in. There is no need to treat someone so ungratefully, when she is just doing something out of the goodness of her heart…

all rec accs are the same. you share a small work here and there, and the rest of the time you promote the same fics by the same authors as everyone else its boring af

what you seem to be forgetting is that most rec accounts are born from people wanting to share what they read with others to find their own community and have somewhere they can talk about the stories they have enjoyed.
speaking for myself here — my account was literally ONLY an archive where i used to put the things i enjoyed reading and wanted to remember. the fact that slowly more people started to find it out and happened to enjoy the same things as me was a lovely non-planned plus that made me transform my account in a proper recommendation one. but that doesnt mean that i don’t have my own preferences, my own tastes and my own opinions 😊 it’s simply impossible for me to like everything from everyone (i will never even manage in one lifetime to actually READ everything from everyone) so it seems only fair, to me, that i give priority to what sounds interesting, again, TO ME. seems only fair to do on my very own account, or am i wrong?
i dont read fics to reach a diversity quota. i read as a means to enjoy what free time i have. i certainly don’t organize my recommendations based on smaller or bigger authors, on more or less kudos, on a bajillion comments or three of them. i LOVE when i can recommend fics with very little engagement to try and make other people interact with them when i do find them, but that will not always be the case. sometimes im going to read the same fic 30 thousands other people have read already and i’m going to enjoy it and i’m going to share it with the people on here. is that a crime now? do let me know!

i’m certainly not holding u here with locks and chains! go find your own community or if you have so much to say about rec accounts in general, go make your own! just take care of telling me which one it is so that we don’t cross paths since our opinions and tastes are this different. have a great one!
