he’s very unsettled at first. moving to waterdeep is like the first time in his life where he doesn’t have to physically work for his own survival. he tries to work for a bit. mostly just odd jobs he can find. like unloading and loading ships at the docks etc.. tries going on hunting trips again, but he’s got to travel out of the city to do so, and he feels sort of unsettled being away from gale for too long (((in the beginning. still trying to get over the trauma of being abducted by mindflayers, being infected, saving the entirety of faerûn from the absolute…)))
mostly picks up hobbies after a while of on and off working. starts wood carving. builds furniture. gale teaches him to read and write. picks up playing instruments again. writes Gale hundreds of love songs. performs at the yawning portal. starts fishing. buys an old broken boat to fix up and sail. becomes a big beach bum where he does all said hobbies while sunbathing.
