An acquaintance of mine said that lesbian are lesbians not because they're attracted to women but because they disgust men very much. What are your thoughts about this peculiar view?

So they mean to say that lesbians are completely and absolutely disgusted by all men, and have to default to women because those are the only two kinds of people we're acknowledging exist, and you're out of options once you discount men? Nah. Do straight women define their heterosexuality by a feeling of total repulsion for their own gender? I doubt many straight women would say "YES" to that, they would say they were attracted to men not repulsed by women on every level and just left with men. And I doubt many people would apply that same "explanation" to straight women. Meanwhile, something has to make you or just leave you queer, people have to explain it away. "Lesbians are just MAN HATERS" is an old one. As if a woman's entire life has to be constructed around men, because they're the center of the universe, so she doesn't exclusively love women she just HATES men. That ain't it.
