Just a few clarifications regarding what you said about “picking from your existing contributor application pool” - did the team already have a set list of accepted applicants prepared for the original August 8th decisions? I assume your statement means you’ll probably be redoing acceptances, but will previous decisions affect how you select applicants if continuing with the zine?
Additionally, are the mods willing/able to disclose if any previously invited guest contributors are still collaborating with the zine, or have pulled out of the project?
As of the date of the controversy, we had already finished grading contributors and were prepared to send out emails. Current, everything has been delayed (up to October 4th at the latest) as we've tried to figure out how to navigate the current situation.
We are discussing on the mod side, but currently we don't plan on reopening applications and will proceed with our previous application selections.
We plan on making a complete status update that will include this information once we have sorted out things on the back-end, thank you for your patience!
