Do you believe that the cinematography in most Visual novels will ever become more vivid instead of relying on mostly static sprites?

probably not in the specific case of sprites, because animating those is a lot of work! you're going to need a pretty big asset budget & team, and i think most FVN devs just have to prioritize the essentials.

also, ren'py is not particularly good at doing animation. realizing i could animate backgrounds & cutscenes in Godot's pretty convenient visual editor with my own engine made me want to experiment with those, though, so watch this space for future developments
