Thoughts on star wars?

It sure is a film series! this might be controversial, but as far as "classic" sci-fi movies go, I loved David Lynch's Dune even if it wasn't that faithful to the books (as far as I understand, I never finished Dune tbh). The original star wars trilogy is awesome, I fully remember being like 12 and seeing the vader reveal and fucking weeping openly x3

the prequels I don't really remember plot points about, just Natalie Portman's costumes and how annoying Jar Jar was. As far as the new films go, I really like that they had Carrie Fisher's IRL daughter in them, I think that was cool, but the films themselves are mostly forgettable for me.

As for the age-old debate of Star Wars v Star Trek, I will always prefer Trek just because I vibe with the optimism of Trek way more and I'm about that escapism. World is a hellfire IRL, I want to fantasize about space communism. But star wars, as far as the original trilogy goes, is pretty dang alright in my book. Good films, worth watching.
