This was discussed before, but since the development of some other open source Rentry-like services we decided to focus on the service rather than going more open. So we're focused on making Rentry as good and well managed as possible, rather than spending the time to ensure the code is adaptable for others.
There are options out there now for open source, so we feel that the niche is covered.
