oh this is a good question, ty!! I think she always paints something onto the hulls of her finished airships for luck, even if it’s something small :) and she definitely talks to all of her machines in bozjan because they just won’t respond the same way if she uses eorzean common. obviously.

well let’s be honest, most of fletcher’s opponents are larger than her LOL but she does enjoy the challenge of that I think… she loves to make people who underestimate her based on her size or build experience Regret lmao. she’s very mean in fights 😔

when you make a new character do you make (some) lore first or do you design them first? all of your xiv characters seem really well-rounded and interesting

ah thank you ;w; !! honestly it depends, usually I start with an idea for their appearance and a backstory element, and then I follow it from there and see where it goes!! I find that writing a bunch of little details helps to make a character feel fleshed out too :) those are always my favorite things to write anyway. do I know what Fletcher’s relationship with her ex was like?? no. but I OBVIOUSLY know precisely how she feels about spicy foods.

fletcher takes her coffee black and piping hot and if you add sugar or milk to yours or drink it iced she thinks you’re a loser. sorry. she’ll add whiskey to it if she’s feeling sassy (this happens most days.)

oh yeah trust me every opinion fletcher has is a strong opinion. she HATES sweets and desserts in general and avoids most fruit. she loves meat and beer and strong spicy foods… I think she’d really like something like kimchi :)

yo i was wondering if fletcher ever makes her own clothes or customizes clothes so they're more comfortable? since she seems a kind of DIY person i wondered if it was just mechanical stuff or if it extended out to other things she did

oh yknow that’s a good question, I hadn’t thought about it!! I wanna say…… she’s probably not very patient with that sort of project LMAO she’d try to thread a needle and then get pissed off and quit. her brand of diy extends to machining and metalworking and a smidge of carpentry… she can reattach a button to a shirt if she MUST but that is about it hdgdjfg

her voice is very boyish and raspy (she smokes a LOT), with a slight bozjan accent! i don't have a 100% confirmed voice claim yet but like...... imagine natasha lyonne's character in russian doll but a bit lower. that's pretty close lmao

yes they have!! fletcher is roe's mechanic for her bikes, and they're also drinking buddies :) fletcher is a terrible influence. roe has had to hoist her onto her shoulders like a sack of popotos and carry her her drunk ass home many many times.

thank you!! ♥ i suppose it can be, but it's no different than making friends in any other online setting really...... honestly some of my best xiv pals are folks i met through twitter first lmao. i don't have anything too insightful to say about it, i think the key is just to remember that everyone's a real person behind their oc and to be respectful of boundaries..... kindergarten stuff. sharing is caring. etc.
and good luck in learning 3d modeling!!! for me at least the learning curve was. really steep LOL. but there's no shortage of resources out there for beginners, and it's SO satisfying once you start to get the hang of it!!! making your blorbo actually look like how you envisioned them in your head is the coolest shit in the world :)

What's something that Fletcher is passionate about that people wouldn't expect from her?

well fletcher is the type of person to pretend she doesn't care about any other living creatures lmao but she actually loves birds of all sizes!!! as an example, one time she found an injured hawk and helped nurse her back to health and now they're best buddies :) whenever she comes back to the warehouse fletcher dotes on that bird like nothing else. (but if you catch her in the act and say it's cute fletcher will tell you to fuck off. obviously.)
i haven't picked a name for her yet..... it's probably something stupid like "gearshift".

well a little chaos is good for the soul yknow. but i think mostly fletcher wants to tinker with her machines and avoid as much introspection as is physically possible. alas, she is one of my ocs, and therefore i am planning to rattle her around in the pear wiggler :)

hi Red! This isn't specific to any of your babies, but do you have tips on making OCs/RP in general for a newbie? Hope you are having a great day!!

hello!! i hope you're having a good day too ♥
honestly this probably sounds like very obvious advice lmao, but the best way to make an oc is ALWAYS to be as self-indulgent as you possibly can. take some shit you like and run wild with it! whether that's making an oc whose backstory slots into some of your favorite in game lore, a character archetype you really like...... or like, idk. someone who's just really fuckin attractive according to your tastes lmfao. that's my favorite shortcut on how to have the most fun.
as for rp.... one thing i've learned over the last year or so of learning to rp myself is that if you're upfront about being new or anxious, people are really kind and welcoming! don't be afraid to tell rp partners you're inexperienced or to ask questions, bc folks will almost always be thrilled to accommodate you. we're all a bunch of losers playing barbie dolls together, don't let yourself get psyched out too hard LOL.
that being said, if you want more concrete advice about etiquette, commonly used terms, etc: i read this guide (https://tinyurl.com/FFXIVRPFAQ) cover to cover while i was working up the courage to attend in-game rp events and it taught me a LOT about the basics that i was too embarrassed to ask my more experienced friends about lmao. highly recommended!!
