My name on here came from an episode of The Nostalgia Critic in which he edited together two scenes from the '80s Super Mario Bros. movie to make the villain say "Bob-Omb!" and "Monkey!" over and over. My username on fedi, Cats Who Code, comes from one of my cats who used to sit on the keyboard and open programs like the text editor or the terminal, so I started calling her a "cat who codes."
honestly, i'm not sure. i simply liked how the word "ripple" sounded and stuck with it. "rippuru" is just a Japanese pronunciation of my name; one day i was messing with phonemes and making japanese voicebanks talked and tried to make Azuki say my name. i liked how it sounded, and adapted it as an alias. my other names are just from characters i kin or random words that particularly stuck out to me/sounded cute <3
me personally it came from romas kalanta! only indirectly though but idk
