do you have any sort of artist statement/themes you seek to convey through your art? i remember reading something along the lines of it at some point, but i dont think it was quite as directed so i wanted to ask you point blank. i think we're quite different but nonetheless im very intrigued by your artistic vision i think. maybe im reading into it too far i'm not sure hahaha.
artist statement,,,mmm, ill try to answer to the best of my ability.
i want to take control of a part of my childhood that is difficult to talk about. i want to talk about it, visually, and create a safe haven for victims who have been shamed and marginalized for not being “the perfect victim”. i want to connect too, with this pain i dont know where else to put, and transform it into something softer, something impossible. i want to express my strange feelings and memories in hopes that others can see that theyre not alone in their strange feelings and memories.
my personhood is something ive only recently discovered, and with that, comes the art that i make now. for a long time i felt like i was only alive for the sake of pleasuring others, and it is difficult to break from this sense, even now. striking my own opinions through my words and my art is something new to me, so i apologize if this doesnt make much sense or isnt the answer you were looking for.
im happy we get to be different and i hope we can respect those differences.
