hello, dear sesame!! you once asked me this so I would like to ask you in turn (also I have been hit with the dreaded Writer's Block, so I think I need some fresh perspective @@): what's your process when it comes to writing fics? everything from how the idea is conceived to how you plan the way everything flows, would be very interesting to hear! :O

!!! hi dear ciel !!
(i am shooing your writer’s block away with a big big broom booooo i hope it eases soon ;;)
oooohh okay so i think my process is a bit chaotic but ill try to describe it !! i normally get ideas either from books (usually lines from time war or the starless sea bc those books make me go brrrrrr) or songs or things like that OR ill have a random train of thought that somehow ends in an idea (they are enigmatic little ideas that i grasp onto as hard as i can before they wriggle from my grasp !! fun fact tkag was the result of one of those random trains of thought !!) then ill either open the notes app or get a notebook depending on what’s nearer and just scribble away this is like part one of my planning process. normally when i do this i kind of get more ideas as im writing and the fic just gets bigger and fuller as i just write away as quickly as i can in fear of forgetting something hehe (sometimes that doesn’t happen but that’s okay !!) idk i think that being so focused on just getting something down helps with the creative process bc im less focused on over-analyzing everything !! then planning part 2 is opening up a notion template i downloaded a while ago that basically just helps me extract the individual plot points from the big big brainstorm session and organize them in a way that i think flows best. some things end up discarded and some things end up reworked so they’re less or more significant than i first planned for, but that’s okay !! i also write out any dialogue i can picture super clearly in this part bc idk i find dialogue relatively easy to plan out so i like to get it out of the way before writing !!
finally, i open up a gdocs page and start writing away hehe getting the first line is normally the most difficult part for me bc every time i start a new project it feels like im riding a bike again for the first time in years but if i just keep at it i eventually find my rhythm !! i do my first draft in bullet points for a reason i no longer can explain but it just works for me i think it helps me feel less pressured but also ive just been doing that for years so i guess ive gotten used to it !! im not really the sort of person to jump around when writing like ill normally write the whole thing in the order you’d read it, but if i get to a point where im stuck on a sentence or a description or something like that, ill just mark it with “[x]” and come back to it later, especially if the part after that is something i know ill be able to write well.
mmm i think that’s it !! when the fic is done i then just proofread (or attempt to im terrible at that i miss so many errors all the time) and format it !! it’s a very all over the place method esp in the first planning stage but it works for me !! and i hope it’s a little helpful for you dear ciel (or at least interesting hehe) muah muah !! <333
