are there any personality traits or characteristics of the txt members that you try to keep fairly consistent in your fics? im curious about how you view and characterize them individually and dynamic-wise(like between the members as friends/dating/etc), i always feel like your fics are really canon-compliant in this sort of way! (even though the AUs change)

hi!! love this question because it really made me think. as someone that’s “known” them for a long time (obviously i don’t know them personally, but i’ve been following them since debut so it’s been several years) i think my perception of their characters has changed throughout the years. i’ve seen soobin come out of his shell and start to say the most out of pocket shit, and i’ve watched kai express insecurities i see very few idols talk about and then start to grow and move past them. that being said, there are also some things that have stayed consistent throughout and something that i view as a part of their character - beomgyu’s ability to detect something wrong before it’s even happened, yeonjun’s emotional intelligence, taehyun’s acts of service and the way that he’s not afraid to express how much he cares about people. the fun part about being a writer is that i get to put them in different situations and imagine how they would react given what has changed about them and what has stayed consistent through the years. situation changes so much about a person, so i like to think that every single version of them in every fic is different - but the core of their personalities stay the same. i also try to consider the age that i’m setting them in - high schoolers have different personalities and maturity levels than say, an office worker heading towards 30. i can’t say that i explicitly plan out and think about these things ahead of time, but they’re all kind of sitting in the back of my mind when i go into a fic. does that make sense? a very long answer but i hope it was interesting haha
