We can see with how he overcorrects some with Loona that he's desperately trying to break the cycle- he's overly indulgent and affectionate, even when she doesn't seem to want it, treating her like a child because he was treated harshly and expected to be 'grown-up' enough to be part of the act from a young age. He wants to be a better father than his was, wants his kid(s) to know love and safety instead of fear and insecurity.

There's actually a particular little image in OT that I like- when Blitz is scrubbing the marker off the pictures to keep Stolas from seeing them, he smears his fingertips black like Cash's, but Stolas washes it away. Support and care help to make sure that the cycle doesn't repeat.

Blitzo rubbed his eyes, looking down- wipes were scattered over his chest and stomach, and bits of black marker colored his fingertips. The mess tickled the back of his mind, and he stuck his index finger into his mouth to try and suck it off before realizing the moment it touched his tongue that it still tasted like marker and wipe-juice. “Bleh!”

“Let me.” Stolas was gentle as he dabbed a bit of soap on the cloth and rubbed it over Blitzo’s fingertips, humming as he did while the color swirled down the drain. Down and away. “This reminds me of when Via used to get markers all over her when she was little.”

“Hey, I’m not a fuckin’ toddler!”

“I’m well aware of that, darling,” Stolas said. “Of course you can wash your own hands, but… I like being able to take care of you.” When the black had vanished, he flipped the palm over, kissing the back of it, and the way the water cascaded over his shoulders, hair draped across his face as he practically bowed… Blitzo swallowed.

“Eh. I’ll allow it.”
