hi imane! what other manga would you recommend for people who really enjoy skip to loafer?

hello!! if you enjoy skip and loafer, you will definitely enjoy one of those works (in no particular order) :

  • hirayasumi : slice of life manga about a girl moving out to tokyo at her cousin's place to attend art school and the stories of the people around them. if you enjoy the slice of life aspect of stl and its celebration of the joys of the mundane and the importance of community, hirayasumi is for you.
  • ikoku nikki : story about a novelist who takes in her niece after the death of her parents and how they attempt to navigate their relationship. if you enjoy the heartfelt writing of stl and the care put into giving its characters' a voice, you will enjoy ikoku nikki. a very personal reflection about human relationships, identity, family and grief.
  • no home : basically stl's unhinged cousin. it's a webtoon by wanan about a runaway kid and homeless kid who can't stand each other but somehow end up living in the same haunted high school dorms. no home has heavier themes but if you enjoy the masterclass in storytelling and character writing that stl is, no home will definitely hit the spot for you.
  • kieta hatsukoi : a shoujo manga about two boys finding themselves after a misunderstanding born from an eraser. kiekoi is wholesome, silly, fun and cozy in all the right ways. if you enjoy how gentle stl is and its lightheartedness, i can't recommend kiekoi enough.
  • our polar opposites : a manga about the relationship between an energetic high schooler and her quiet classmate. our polar opposites' is a fun romcom with a solid and lovable cast that is given just as much care and attention as the main characters in a way that is very reminiscent of stl. if you enjoy the stl friend group and their dynamics, you have to meet the friend group from our polar opposites!

i also love recommending witch hat atelier, dungeon meshi and sousou no frieren to stl readers. they're very different in setting and themes but have the same emotionally charged storytelling and loving character writing as skip and loafer 🫶
