hai mal this is not isla going under cover for research purposes this is someone else going not-undercover for non-research purposes.

with that out of the way, what do you think tweek would think of cart if they were to meet as adults? he's obviously easily manipulated and cart adept in manipulation but that aside, is he drawn to certain things in cart? does he empathize with him in his weaker moments? how might these two vibe? ok goodbai (´ε` )♡

hi stranger (definitely not isla) going not-under cover for non-research purposes!

that's a good question! it's actually something I think about a lot because I do like never-grew-up-together AUs.

but with Cartman and Tweek, the way they view each other if they met as adults is similar to how I think they maintain a friendship as kids/teens. that is, they both view the world with distrust and suspicion—Tweek has been like this from a young age already, and Cartman develops this over time due to a variety of factors. how they react is entirely different, of course. that's evident in canon even.

but it's something they recognize in each other and so there is a mutual understanding of like "this guy is sort of like me, so he can't be all bad." they can commiserate over shared medications and side effects hell, and talk about aliens and various conspiracies; they both like sausage and cred, and unfortunately for Tweek, Cartman is a master manipulator, so yes I'd say Tweek can empathize with him, especially when he doesn't have the context of their childhood to hold Cartman up against.
