What are your face rpg horror games aside from yume nikki stuff?
Hello!! I looove seeing your Yume Nikki arts so I wanted to tell you, if you are interested, that there is a Yume Nikki fanzine going on currently! It is a bit of a unique fanzine, so if you are interested, I’d love to see your work in it!
What would you recommend for someone starting out in art? I've heard many artists say to start out on the fundamentals, but I've also heard artists start by just drawing. P.S. I LOVE YOUR ART :]
Sorry, I forgot to answer!
I think each person needs an individual approach because it’s easier for me to learn about art from books, while others are disgusted to even touch them. in the end, observation and practice form your skill. I can say for sure that the more you draw, the better you will get at it!!!
How long has your journey with art been, and how do you feel about where your art is now? Is there more things you want to do with your art or are there art styles/directions you want to pursue?
Tnx for asking! ^^ To be honest, I don’t remember how long I’ve been drawing, but it’s probably been a long time (??) I’m not that happy about what I'm doing now because over the last month I’ve gained an audience for my traditional art (sketches), but I’m not very good at it mostly because I'm digital artist in the first place and all my non-sketch works are in digital, so for now I'm trying to draw different things in my sketchbook to bridge the gap between my traditional and digital drawings. I think my main goal is to draw anatomically correct but simplified characters on complex colorful backgrounds (lol)
I love your art style so much!! The painterly feeling to it makes it look like a drawing that would be in a children's book (theme aside)! Any tips to get that calm and traditional art feeling?? :3
Both in sketchbook drawings and in digital I use approximately the same technique: gradual layering of colors, contrasting shadows and a lot of use of bright colors in random places (lol) for example on the ends of the hair or colored spots in the eyes. Try using a palette of 3 contrasting colors and their shades for rendering and (if you draw digitally) use a brush with a pencil texture!
On insomniac nights, do you usually get by with music, or do you tend to delve more into deeper thoughts? Speaking of which, how do you get inspiration for your art?
If you could make any sort of game, what game would that be? Would it be like a reflection of your current self, or some interesting fantasy world you dreamt as a kid, or perhaps an abstract exploration of a concept?
I think if I made a game it would be something surreal and abstract? this may sound superficial, but in games the most important thing for me is the visual experience, and only then the plot and everything else, because I like to look at beautiful and mysterious things that give some special atmosphere and attract the eye
How would you say your interests influenced your creativity, or vice versa? Do you look for the things that resonate with you, or did you just happen to come by it and it then inspired you? You have a very atmospheric and psychological art style, and I notice it's similar to the games you are a fan of!
... this may be a slightly unexpected answer, but in fact, what most influenced my style was “Cardcaptor Sakura” and other CLAMP works. My goal was to draw in a simpler style because for study I draw a lot of academic stuff and it takes a lot of time, so I would say my style is based on the influence of (maho) shoujo on my life and my unwillingness to draw realistic people all my free time
Why did the old man fall down the well?
Because he couldn't see that well!
I hope this pun is so lame it helps you to fall asleep. :")
I would love if you drew Girls' Last Tour or Shimeji Simulation
