for my application, i put that i would like to be a pdf/mv artist, but also checked the cover artist box: i assumed this would be like saying i would like to be the cover artist but if not, being a pdf/mv artist is fine too, but after rereading the carrd im not too sure if thats allowed? just making sure 😅
No, you are correct! If you applied to be the cover artist, PDF, and MV artist, you would only not allowed to be a PDF/MV artist if you are chosen as the cover artist. If you aren’t you still can be another artist. Hope this clears it up!

hello! not necessarily a question about the zine, but just letting you know that the white text on pastels for your graphics is difficult to read. the darker green text on a pastel background that you have for your carrd has been more accessible to read, so is it possible you could use this combo for future graphics?
Of course! With the Head Mod being disabled, we’re always making sure our zine is as accessible as possible. Your feedback is always appreciated. We will begin using this darker combo for our graphics from now on

is it okay to apply twice (sending two forms at different points of time) if the portfolio for one position isn’t ready yet??
We would appreciate if you simply wait for both portfolios to be complete before you send in an application. This is better for us in the organization sense. Thank you!

I feel like this is a dumb question lol but do u want us to give our real names or is a username cool?
Username/alias is 100% okay for the name portion of the forms. However, if you do just put your username please know that will be what we are going to refer to you as in all future references. Preferably, we want a name to refer to you as in the name portion of the form and your username being listed on your Social Media portion of the form.

Do you expect that artists who participated in 2021 will be given any preference for this years project?
We will not be giving preference or bias for past participants. We are definitely going to choose our contributors as fairly as possible with at most a favor for new participants. Our decisions are, however, mostly based off of portfolios!

Do you expect to have apps for additional mods? Or strictly sticking with just the two mods already features on your page?
We’re strictly keeping our two mods for this year. Next year, we will have mod applications!

excuse me if i misunderstood the carrd, i was unsure how song cover mvs/arts are worked out. is a contributing artist assigned to do art for a cover if they'd like to, or does the cover artist make the art themselves/find someone to make their art on their own? or is it a choice? sorry if i worded it a bit confusingly!
It’s no problem at all! Artists are not assigned to do art for a cover unlike our 2021 collab. Contributors can decide whether or not they want to make an MV themselves or commission/work with another artist to make one. They also can just not make an MV at all. In the video those that don’t have an MV would be accompanied with official siinamota art/MV of the song itself. Also, I do want to specify that “cover artist” as a contributor actually is what we refer to the person making the cover of the PDF. From here on out, to make it easier, we will refer to the people in the video portion as video artists (meaning anyone making a cover, MV, animation, etc). Please remember that you are always able to be a page artist and video artist at the same time. The only restrictions are if you are chosen as the cover artist or a guest artist. Guest artist information will be out after the interest check, however. Thank you for letting us clarify!

Have you considered making this zine have a pay what you want option, if someone wants to pay more than whatever the floor price for the digital zine ends up being? I'd be very interested in that
Yes, absolutely! We’re trying to make sure when orders open we use a service that allows you to pay MORE than the base price if you want as to add more donation!

I would love for the pdf to have alternate text (for the blind and low vision) but I do not know if it's fully possible!!
That is absolutely possible! We will be having an alternate text version for the PDF so it can be as accessible as possible

i think it'd be cool if there was a written section to discuss his works :o this might require more moderation though to make sure it doesn't bleed into his private life

I would love love LOVE if there was any sort of physical merch alongside the digital PDF. Like keychains/charms or even stickers. I would be willing to pay much more to have a physical reminder of the zine
(note: this was a comment from our interest check but we wanted to answer it here)
We really would love to have a physical version/merchandise of the zine- however this would require much more finances that we don’t have. Shipping, several finance moderators, people to find places to print/make the merchandise, it’s just too much for our current schedule. That being said, we are pursuing a physical version NEXT year. This will mean the interest check will come out much earlier than this year and we will be holding mod applications for 2024’s collab. However, if you want a physical reminder our idea to make up for the zine being strictly digital is perhaps a limited quantity of a merchandise artist-designed keychain! It would be on our shop separately and we would give it out free to any contributors and then give the rest to those that buy it. Our head mod is experienced in creating and selling keychains so this would be much easier than trying to make this year’s zine physical. Feel free to DM us if you have any other ideas or tell us if ours appeals to you. We appreciate the love and support so much

How many contributors will be accepted?
last year we had 36 contributors but as of now we don’t have a set number amount of people that will be accepted. we are looking for 30+ artists for the PDF portion of the zine, though the video may be different
