Sorry since you mentioned "Not all of the artists who participated in the Zine are able to afford their own physical copy." I'm wondering why isn't the proceeds from sales going to this instead of supplying everyone with a copy? Giving to charity should take a backseat to giving real people who worked on your project their compensation. You are handling real money and real people, why is giving money to charity a priority when you realise there are actual people on the zine who cannot afford it?
Hi! Thank you so much for your input! Please know, we have discussed and voted on this choice as a group; this was not a one sided choice. After third check ins, all contributors got to vote on what the final compensation for this project would be; if all of the funds should go to charity, or if we should cover contributor copies first before charity. The overwhelming majority of contributors voted to make sure funds go to charity first, and we came up with the group decision to utilize the donation pool to help cover the Zine for those who could not afford it. While I really appreciate the concern, please know this decision was made my the mixtape team as a whole; mods AND artists.
