it seems like everyone who’s participating has already claimed their prompt at this point! i am still seeing some new ones here and there, though that’s mostly from people who have submitted their first one and are writing another. but the claim form will remain open anyway 🙂‍↕️

What do you do if you want to write a lot but the person hasnt specified how many words it has to be or how long it has to be? What if i want to make it 15k words but maybe the person wants it short

hey! as long as you fulfill the prompt, you can make it however long or however short you want to. again, this is not a commission, so the fic does not have to be perfectly tailored to the prompter’s expectations/requests. and if they did not specify something like “i prefer a short one shot”, then it’s likely that they don’t have a preference at all !! but either way, if you want to write 15k (or more), you’re more than welcome to ^^

Hello~, not sure if this was already answered, but i just got out of the shower wondering if we can ask the promter for a kink list before claiming a prompt. I mean, i'm interested in claiming a prompt that includes smut but i would like first to know what i'd be allow to work with. Thank you!

fell behind a bit with the responses which is why you might’ve not gotten one yet, aaand there are a few more beta readers than authors who need a beta rn (which is good) so it’s not guaranteed. if you don’t get one by the end of this week that just means we haven’t matched you with someone yet!

hi, you can sign up! instead of entering a prompt code just paste your self-prompt from the message we sent you into the form and we’ll manage the rest. thank you!

hi, since we don’t have an author guessing game it’s entirely up to you how much you want to share about your fic! we do think it would be more fun to let people (unofficially) guess and speculate but it’s completely the author’s decision!

Ah, sorry, so more context, i was thinking about self promting after i finish my first fic , but i was looking at my friends submission form becuase im helping them beta and it said they'd get their code at a later after the master doc was finished? Off topic but they havn't yet and they're not worried about it but i am-? Should they have gotten one by now? But sorry anyways, when someone self promts in the future does it just get auto added to the master doc, its immediately claimed, and your givin your code immediately to? Or do you have to find it on the masterdoc yourself?
(Im sorry i know thats still not incredibly clear, how and when do you get the code after you self promt?)

oh oh okay, understood! firstly no, nothing to worry about if you haven’t gotten a prompt code for a self-prompt yet. they aren’t necessary and are only there for posting purposes, so if you self-prompted early we DO have your prompt code in a google sheet we just haven’t sent them out yet (because there’s many and we have been prioritizing getting other stuff sorted - but now we’re pretty much caught up so hopefully we will be able to send them out soon)

as for the masterlist, our self prompts aren’t there yet either for similar reasons. since we’re doing it through notion everything has to be entered manually and we just haven’t had time to get to it yet, and since it’s not a high priority task we’ve left it until we‘re caught up on all the other stuff!

when you submit a self-prompt you’ll receive a twitter dm or an email within 24 hours (max. 48, depending on the day 😬) just confirming your pairing, prompt, and category. at the bottom of the message is where you’ll find your prompt code: “For posting, your prompt code is [blank]. Please make sure to save this somewhere!“

as mentioned, anyone who submitted a self prompt before the claiming forms opened will not have received a prompt code yet but we’ve already formatted and noted them down! we just need to send out the messages and transfer them to notion (which again should be happening soon).

Where do we find the prompt codes for self prompts? I'm not doing one this round but would like to after i finish this one maybe? Im just confused on how that works lol

hi !! a self-prompt won’t have a code until you submit it through the self-prompt form and we assign one to it. sorry if this is not what you meant, just a bit confused by this question?

i know it’s not super likely to happen but what would we do if we, having signed up to be a beta reader, get matched with the author writing the prompt we gave (and would rather the fic be kept as a surprise) - what would we do? :)

if you submitted your prompt anonymously this is possible, but we always send the match info to the author and the beta reader before we get you connected so everyone has the option to say no if they wish! this means you’d see what the prompt is and you can decline if it ends up being yours.

BUT it would be much easier/quicker if you dm’d us to let us know which prompt you sent in and that way we can just avoid matching you to that author straight from the beginning, that way we don’t have to do any re-matching or anything like that ^^ thank you!

yes! if you’re ever not sure then our twt display name and the home page of our carrd is always updated to tell you what period we’re currently in (claiming + writing). the claim form is in our bio, pinned thread, and carrd! thank you ☺️
