hey there! thanks for the detailed write up on what's the deal with chisei! i was reading it again and something else occurred to me - haruomi's character sounds older/more mature (?) in the buraikan songs and just in general compared to chisei (assuming that all the buraikan songs we know are made in the present and not from buraikan's heyday) could this be a hint at the fact that haruomi has aged and chisei has not aged since the moment haruomi 'preserved' him in his illusion? they might have designed haruomi to have a naturally deeper voice just to contrast with chisei as a character but the contrast is so stark that i feel like it's trying to tell us something else

I think it's definitely possible. I do imagine there is probably some degree of intentionality in the casting with Ono Kensho's voice generally sounding quite youthful especially when compared to Suwabe.

But then again there's always a sort of chicken and the egg situation where, like, if you're going to hire Suwabe Junichi, you'd better let him Suwabe all over all of his lines else why are you even hiring him, www
