ooo yes... i've mentioned the thing abt susie's (lackof a)neck like 1000 times but i wanna describe in more detail how i think it's sensitive as like. a survival instinct bc! if the signal between her head and body was fully interrupted, her brain would stop sending signals to her body and all of her organs would stop functioning soon after. i think a lot about how the disembodied limb stuff works a lot. i feel like there's some kinda "field" that keeps them connected. there probably is a degree to which it comes down to magic but kirby has a very major theme of the interaction of magic and science... i imagine there is some kind of energy transfer in a constant communication between the disembodied limbs and the body... i occasionally describe it as an "electromagnetic leash" as, for example, if you were to grab their hand and run, it would drag along their body, and the rest of their hands (however many they have) as well... i don't know if it would be electromagnetic energy, and i'm unsure how/IF blood circulation works... (tiny localized circulatory systems?) but i imagine there is a "signal", and that signal is vital... for example if you put someone's hand in a lead-lined box of some kind to block the signal, it would go numb, limp, and eventually the limb would die... i do think a lot of the characters have behaviors closer to animals than humans... as for example poppy bros jr nuzzles kirby at one point! and sharing food mouth-to-mouth is a very casual platonic thing, it's not far-fetched to imagine a lot of characters have slightly animal behavior... for one i imagine the spiders (and maybe it's even a general part of the culture of floralia?) are social groomers... taranza preens himself often, and sectonia was obsessed with her appearance, so i can easily see them grooming eachother in their past. fuss over her hair... the squeaks i can imagine tend to sleep in piles, not just the bosses all together but any configuration padded out with swarms of squeakers... on the note of squeakers i imagine them and some of the similar "waddle dee clones" (including waddle dees themselves, and by extension of the squeakers the squeaks in general) rely a lot on scent as an identifier (not the jambelievers though, we don't even know if they're all one species, i feel like the homogeneous nature is moreso imposed what with the strict uniform... they are cultists, after all.) ....as for mating sort of stuff!! i have gone on a bit about it before (will link those in twitter reply) so i'll focus on things i haven't mentioned... i feel like, for one, susie is probably mixed-species (and due to this probably infertile ww) as barring her face she has a drastically different set of physical traits from her father, interspecies breeding isn't universally viable, i don't think, but i imagine the combinations can be more drastic than in real life... due to their population mass in relation to other species i imagine waddle dees give birth in litters and raise the babies communally... (tiny baby waddle dees... cute....) i have also very much contemplated which species would have some kind of estrus cycle, though i'm quite indecisive on whether i should run with some of them, or if i'm being too self-indulgent... assigning it to the mage sisters' species would be a glorious way to torture zan and fawn over flamberge and francisca... floralians are probably are more promiscuous during late winter and early spring, as, being bugs and flowers, and therefore sensitive to cold, the warm season is the safest time to raise young... adjacently (and not really related to sex) i think it would be interesting to have some kind of shared instinctual trigger for heightened aggression in all void-related beings but i currently am blanking on ideas... im just imagining metaknight glorified pmsing and it/s making me laugh.
