i think it was not long ago? after i left my teen years and officially became an adult. it was wild when i realize that my parents are just ... like me. i think the books, movies, media i consumed when i was a kid always show parents as heroic figures, they often describe them as angels. there was a hard time in my life where i finally saw them as human being. i saw them struggling and trying to hold on to their life... i suddenly thought that, welp, they’re just like me, i’m trying to hold on to my life too. i think after that day, i think about them in their young days so much. i think about my mom and her unfulfilled dreams, i think about my dad and his first time trying to figure out life. i wish i can see them more as human beings, so instead of being a child to them, i can also be a friend.
