Ohh that’s a tough one…hmm I don’t think he’d be able to love Lola as much as/in the same way as he loves Dolly, as much as he likes to project Dolly onto Lola, their personalities are still so different. And he’s not completely delusional, the fact that she’s his daughter makes it hard for him to love her the same way he did his wife. I think it’d be extremely frustrating to him that he can’t love Lola the same way he loves Dolly. But! I think he loves Lola in a different way, he loves (or obsesses over?) that Lola is the byproduct of his and Dolly’s love for each other, kinda like proof that it was all real and that their love kinda lives on through Lola’s existence, if that makes sense!
