hi cindy!! maybe you've mentioned it previously and i just haven't noticed but was a series of firsts inspired by say anything?? have a good day <3
it wasn;t! i think i watched it a few years ago for the first time but i don't remember anything from the movie outside of the boombox scene which might be more bc of general pop culture knowledge than me actually remembering what happens.
I’m late for work because I read your new fic aaaaand I love it! No regrets, I would gladly be late for work to read your fic.
i think you should be reading fic on the clock!!! and thank you ♡♡♡♡ im glad u liked it!!!
i read what's in the name ...again. actually i have lost count of how many times i have read that fic. much like how i lost count of all the times i reread all your other 2mn fics. you're probably my favourite 2mn writer. your sense of humour? implacable! your characterisation? splendid! your pacing? absolutely delicious. have a day as gorgeous as you and your fics are.
2min debut fic omg i can't believe it's coming up on 3 years since i posted it,,, woah!! x.x but thank you for this sweet message i'm glad my fics have brought you some measure of joy it is the ultimate compliment for me that someone would read my stuff not only once but multiple times!!!!! i hope you're having an equally lovely day anon <3
hi can u recommend seungin fic on ao3
u can check my bookmarks for some older stuff but im almost exclusively a book reader nowadays! sorry x,x
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah Cindyyyy you’re my favorite writer!!! I am currently giggling over your drabbles. That is all slithers away
thank you!!! ♡___♡
Please recommend poetry books for the yearners
i am admittedly not a poetry girlie but i want to give that + nonfiction more of a chance this year!!! i'll probably start off with some sylvia plath (even tho i hated the bell jar lmfaoooo) and pablo neruda and richard silken but if you have any deep cuts or recs of your own i would love to have them ^^
Hello cindy do you happen to know this author who is an avid 2min shipper but also writes for soobin and yeonjun? I used to read their fics but cant find them anymore. All I know is that they love your 2min works and has soobin as their profile :((
i think you're referring to ali!!! she left kpop twitter a few months ago but the last i heard she was doing well and you can still read her fics on ao3, she's bread_boy on there!
hi cindy!! 🥺❤️ what are you reading now (books)? 💌
i just RIPPED thru dark rise and then dark heir by c.s. pacat lmfoadndjdjdjdj like i was feral foaming at the mouth and desperately need somebody to serve jail time for how h-word dark heir was for a YA book like im actually deeply unwell (positive). i'm currently making my way through the secret history by donna tart and empire of pain by patrick radden keefe, the latter bc i want to read more nonfiction this year. no joke 8 of my holds came in from the library at once and i also entered into busy season at work so i'm trying my best to keep up with my reading! thank you for asking ♡
im hugging u and wishing u happiness rn!!!!!!
i love you cindy stansmola meloncafe
hello cindy heres lunch and i finally read ur 2023 book review bc i accidentally fell down a wikipedia hole abt doomed arctic explorations and didnt want to fall asleep after that! u managed to read (no joke. last year was Bad reading wise) ten times as many books as me ..... thats so cool u read such a wide variety!!
i originally kept the tab open bc i remember u raving abt young mungo at some point and thought u might have read it last year but that must've been the year before anyway i bought the book recently even tho i havent started yet so! consider me influenced! also im bummed to find out that the author of station eleven is a zionist apparently bc id been planning to read that one this year but well we move! i have so much other stuff on my tbr i wont run out anytime soon rip
speaking of tbr i need to go over ur list again and write down which ones i want to read myself bc so many sounded really good!!! however i also have been cured of any desire to ever read babel i fear bc that just sounds like such a drag page count wise -_-
anyway ive personally only read like 3 of the books but it was super cool to read abt ur perspective! re: the wicker king i honestly do not remember a lot (i read it back when it came out) except that it left a v strong impression on me but honestly yea fair! also i read it in translation so that mightve influenced some bits probably
never let me go: i read that book in 2013 and i remember that i fi ished it on a public bus and i broke down crying so hard that other passengers asked me if i was okay 😭 so i'll never touch that book again or watch the film bc i got my share of emotional damages lol but i really liked the writing and as u said, i think the love triangle was way less obtrusive than ud imagine (but also. i just found it so fucking cruel???? kathy wtf) but omg now i just remember that era of tumblr when everyone and their mum did fancast gifsets of the marauders from the terf wizard books and i cant prove it but i feel like half of all andrew garfield l*pin gifs came from that movie oh my god....
and finally! werther! im always so surprised when ppl read old german books like why would u do that to urself if u dont have to suffer thru highschool german class like we did.... i am a devoted goethe hater (fuck faust all my homies hate faust) but i have to admit werther was a quick and easy read (as u put it "accessible classics"!!!) which was way better than goethes later works (again. fuck faust). i lowkey still find it insane that this book literally inspired both a fashion trend of ppl dressing like werther bc he is So pathetic. truly setting new lows. and also inspired a wave of imitation suicides???? did they all have lead poisoning back then. why would u do this. also sorry if u didnt know abt that, shit o.o
anyway im so sorry for rambling for ???? very long in ur inbox without any real point to get to except: i really liked reading that list! i hope u read lots of good books again this year!! pls never stop posting pics of ur cats!! take care & good night !!
which doomed arctic explorations were you reading up on lol + please tell me ur thoughts on young mungo whenever you get a chance to read it!!!! also noted i will never try to read faust. we only picked up werther bc my friend called goethe the german shakespeare and she gave us some good background on the "trends" this book inspired. anyways this long message is so cute you are so cute i will eat u my beloved lunch.
when you want to write but the words aren’t coming out right but you want to write but you’re just staring at the google doc and getting frustrated but you want to write but you keep deleting everything you type but you want to write but everything sounds wrong but you want to
REAL
hi cindy (said cutely) i saw the seungsung spiderhan drabble and im already foaming at the mouth. Your brain is so big 😽
i already have aspirations of writing a part two bc i want more spiderhan but the thought of seungmin thinking of spiderman as a deadbeat boyfriend is so FUNNY TO MEEEEE also i just love writing jisung pov i am at my funniest writing jisung pov
sprry i'm a mere passerby but also a huge cindywriting enjoyer so seeing you say the sacred words seungin seungsung and jeonglix almost made me tear up. immaculate, i repeat, IMMACULATE taste. some of my favourite rarepairs 💔
if my writing pace were faster i would catapult these ships into the top 10 on ao3 with willpower alone
hi cindy, no youre not a shit dog (felt compelled by the question). how are you!! ive seen you talking about books a few times (mainly the 2023 ones) so i was wondering: do you have all time faves? i dont read too much contemporary and even less fantasy but i did add the spear cuts through water as my ooc read for this year because you made it look so good lol!
ahhhh ok i'll separate this into three categories: books that i love, books that stuck with me/i think about all the time, and then wildcards/childhood faves that still bang to this day. i'll try to exclude my 2023 reads since i've talked about them more recently and did a wrap up on them on dreamwidth.
books that i love:
jane eyre, the neapolitan quartet, his dark materials (series), young mungo, the night circus.
books that haunt me (positive):
my dark vanessa, beartown, the handmaid's tale, ender's game
wildcards/childhood faves:
piranesi, on earth we're briefly gorgeous, a darker shade of magic (series), the westing game, flipped, the 7 1/2 deaths of evelyn hardcastle, ranger's apprentice (series). i also remember liking the pendragon books but even as a child i knew they were not well written LMAO.
