hi bee! the kitty is very cute! are their any other mediums you like to work with/what's your favourite one?
ooooo fun question thank you❤️❤️ i love working with many different mediums, as long as they’re buildable! i think only watercolor and ink are the mediums i struggle with bc of their unpredictability and the way i cant layer lighter colors on too of darker colors.. it either means i need to plan very well or let go of my need for control and both are not things i enjoy very much in my artistic process :’)) but layering them with other mediums can be fun, i’m very fond of using multiple mediums in one work anyway!!
i think i mostly love working with paint; i have mainly used acrylic, acrylic gouache and normal gouache, and i feel pretty comfy with those. i love working with fun colors and i love the coverage they can give. ive tried oil paints two times and it was lovely but very different, but i cant use them in my own apartment bc i dont have the ventilation for it! the times i tried them were at my friend’s house :)
another favorite of mine is using black pen. i often hate doing digital lineart bc ive never gotten the hang of it, but i love doing linework and hatchwork and texturing with pen on paper!! i find it so satisfying and fun!!
i’ve also worked with different types of chalks, colored pencils, alcohol based markers, and i love doing collages and just using paper scraps as my medium too.
one medium i’d love to get into more is acrylic markers!! i have a few and theyre great for final details and accents, but id love to get a proper collection going with lots of colors, preferably with brush nibs to get more control over line thickness… im hoping to get some for my birthday in two weeks hehe 🥹
thanks again for asking!! what kind of mediums do YOU like (either to work with or look at)? ❤️
