Yeah the current landscape of fandom is really disheartening :( I currently got into a new series and I want to make art and fic for it, but I know antis and fancops are going to jump on me the second I'm noticed LOL... Seems like the only way to be happy with a fandom lately is to find a little circle of fellow freaks and gatekeep everything to them
Yeah I feel like it definitely depends on whether said fandom has a lot of kids in it, stuff that doesn't appeal to kids or YA fans doesn't rly attract heat ime. Unless you go looking for fights lol. But I definitely understand that you gotta walk on eggshells these days if you like literally any anime, most video games, YA novels...
