I think skz have gotten a bit thematically trapped. i’m not sure if that’s on their writing or if it’s just the songs that end up selected for albums, they’ve mentioned having a huge pool of demos. but i think skz have gotten a little too honed in on trying to continue what they’ve done and big “we’re on top” themed title tracks, and it would maybe help them to step back and get a little more weird with it topic wise so they don’t play to a formula. Maybe an album with a heavier concept lean? also they need to catch a break and not be worked to the bone, if your world is just schedules then practices then writing sessions then airports endlessly, there’s not much new to synthesize from

oh this is a really good point, I agree!! I think they have shoehorned themselves into that "we're giants" role but ALSO my dudes how hard can it be to write something else??? I do like the songs jisung makes a little more, i really liked the sax on Collision for ex and I wonder if its the company and their image of "noise idols" that is driving them to keep on creating these repetitive sounding songs.
also you're so right a concept would help but no one does CONCEPTS anymore in kpop!! bring back undead vampires !!! boy crush concept!!! i want to see some variety!! and YEAH that's my point with noeasy being their best album because they had a YEAR off and yeah they were rerecording old albums and were on kingdom but the break so clearly made them put out some of their best work... will we ever get that again.
