oh I agree about their songs being very one note even though I have completely different taste than you😭 tbh I’ve found the songs with more people worse than when it’s 3racha and someone else, maybe working with new producers would be better. I think taking their time with the albums and not releasing stuff constantly works cause they took their time with ccb and i think ate is one of their most cohesive albums and I don’t hate any of the songs.
you can see the difference with oddinary/maxident and 5-star/rockstar cause I personally find maxident to be their worst (I only like 2 songs and the others I can’t stand😭) and rockstar was soo underwhelming and forgettable, I think comflex is a crime from a production standpoint which is not a problem I ever have with 3racha even if I don’t vibe with some songs. in 5 star a lot of the songs are underproduced and the album is all over the place.
I wish they stopped with so much english cause it only makes their songwriting weaker (very mean: they all suck at it and i wish chan stopped giving us his chanlix english songs or pls translate them to korean)
I don’t think we’re getting anything close to noeasy until they take a long break and live their lives idk it used to feel like they had fun creating their songs before🤷♀️ personally see their newest songs as one note bc they’re very impersonal and the we’re family! You can do this! we’re great! we’re unique! has been stretched too thin so when they’re singing 9/10 that and their production is forgettable there’s nothing that sticks.
Definitely taking time would help but that will never happen especially at the pace they're charting now, not until Minho has to go to the military anyway. I really really want for 3racha to pull a Kun and just go to different song camps and work with different producers because that man was EVERYWHERE for like a whole year and yeah it's because his group was on forced hiatus but!!! i think collaboration with people outside the company would really help them :/
I agree I liked ATE more than I've liked their previous releases but even then it felt kind of a letdown idk why.. I genuinely dislike 5star so much as a full album and I can't speak to the production at all because i'm not too familiar with that but the album sounds like a MESS to me. and it was only like ?? 5 months after maxident too??
oh my god YES i hate the english which is so baffling given 2 english speakers in their group you'd THINK the lyrics would be better... i'd rather not understand a word they were saying please stop making me listen to it. yeah i agree, i don't think they're going to get the time to create anything different until enlistment era rolls around and then who knows what's going to happen. they're pushing with this exact song/album formula because it hasn't failed them yet and they're following bts' trajectory so closely it makes me want to scream... if we get old navy commercial music out of them to break into the U.S imkilling myself istg.
