Saw the 7faust x starbuck yi sang you rtweeted and it made me remember that Starbuck in Moby Dick had a son and a wife back at home and wished to return to them so much that he once considered killing Ahab.
Made me think of in the last moments of the Pequod when they were being devoured by the all withering whale, as he slowly withered away he thought of Faust and maybe their child in his final moments.

you know, as much as roland is in a better place mentally in the good ending, i believe a part of him still very much fears losing what happiness he's found in the library. read a fic where roland's nightmares of angelica dying is replaced with nightmares of angela dying and it gave me the big sad, especially since he almost lost her twice in quick succession; once because of his desire for revenge and second to the Light. pls give him lots of hugs and kisses angelaaaa
oh yeah absolutely. roland is protective on principle because that’s just the way he is as a person, but My God its even worse when it comes to angela. i’ve talked about it before, but angela just has that eternal sense of something…. fleeting. something that’s not meant to stay around. roland holds onto her when they lay down together and she shuts off for the night like she’s going to disappear in a fluttering rush of golden pages and feathers if he lets go or looks away for even a second. also definitely not helped by the fact that he views both angela and angelica as angels; something “higher”, something greater, less a person and more a concept of good. THAT ONE FIC…. mann that does so many things to me. just like he has nightmares of angelica’s death, soon they’re only aided by ones of angela’s last final smile before she disappears into the light, and roland’s hand grasping nothing but fading light when he tries to pull her back out. in any case, angela, even if she doesn’t properly understand nightmares and dreams in her own experience, is happy to hold him anyway, or let him hold her in return.

Throuple going to a hot springs in winter? I know they have the big bath and that could work, but if they really feel like it and need a break, I can see them going to another district for a short while and chilling in one. We say how Angela should get sucked by a vampire, which I agree with, but what about Angela being a vampire?
Not only do I think Angela having fangs is hot and I would be her own personal bloodbag, but I think it could fit with her character in a way? Wanting to be seen as human, to fit in with them, but because of the way she sees herself, she believes she never CAN fit in (accidentally described don in a way, whoopsies)

thinking about Angelica swapping with Roland again. So many thoughts but hhnrnbngg. Roland held onto Angelica with her “this is this” motto but what does Angelica have to hold onto Roland. She’s (unintentionally) shaped him into believing in the motto/her so much that he…doesn’t have much to hold onto? Other than hamhampangpang, which you can’t really get in the library, and his mask, which is confiscated by hana. So she only has her rose tinted glasses memories of Roland.
goddd i love thinking about this. while roland is so focused on holding onto things, on keeping angelica’s motto close to his heart even if he doesn’t believe it in the same way she did, all because it’s all he properly, truly has left of her. she has their memories together, but they’re still just that: memories. Things that are, in the end, impermanent. angelica always keeps walking onwards, always continues to move on and look away from the problems of others and the pain she herself causes to make her own life easier. where, then, does she really cross over the line between “that’s that and this is this” and holding desperately onto the memories she still has?
