angst isn’t usually my style but i think that prior to properly getting together, caelus actually confesses to dan heng first before they arrive at luofu and is rejected since dh is still keeping a lot of secrets from everyone.

caelus is heartbroken at first, but then learns about him being created solely to be a vessel for the stellaron and thinks that maybe it was for the best that dan heng rejected him—not when he doesn’t know how much of him is a person, and how much of him is pure stellaron. so he decides to just be content with being dan heng’s friend. that in itself is enough; just being around dan heng should be enough.

meanwhile, now that his secret is out and everyone’s feelings about him haven’t changed at all, dan heng is ready to attempt a relationship with caelus. he gets ready to confess, but caelus begins to avoid being alone with him and they get caught in a stalement…. both sides wanting, but one side ready to give it all up while the other is trying for another chance…. they will get together in the end, but it is a very tense period for both of them….
