as someone who loves the yandere trope and is also severely psychotic, has bpd and aspd, i'm here to ask a single question for some of your anons. since when the hell was the yandere trope linked to mental illness? i never saw a problem with it. it's just a stupid anime trope where yandere person does this for person they love. how did bpd get mixed into this shit? like isn't it more terrible to try to not attach any mental illnesses to a trope only found in fiction? because it'll make people associate it with said trope more? idk im just rambling atp. i just don't like how the anons here sound extremely accusatory and guilt-trippy.

i think because it deals with such serious themes it's understandably a very divisive topic, even among people who have the mental illnesses that kinda parallel yandere behaviours. i don't think it's wrong for people to be hurt by it, and share that they find it hurtful, as long as they're not doing it in a super insulting way (which i don't think either anon did, they were just disappointed and trying to educate me, which is totally okay to me, regardless of tone). i also don't think you're wrong for liking yanderes and not associating them with bpd/etc, but you can only control yourself, ultimately - some people are going to make those associations whether we like it or not, and other people are going to feel hurt by that association, even if it was never our intention to connect the two when we made our yandere content. this will be my last thing i post about this because i don't think my account is the best place to middleman discourse (feel free to qrt/reply to this tweet to continue discussing it if you like, but i probably won't contribute), but i wanted to have your side shared as well just to be fair!
