can someone explain to me why so many people in the queer community thinks being trans is being binary man or woman… i saw a video on like “i just visited transcity and they say you’re their major” and people go “no im genderfluid” “no im nonbinary” like yes bby, so ur trans 😞

me when i fumble to explain that transgender is an umbrella term that people can opt-in or out of if they want to, but the identity they use can still fall under transgender. like, i'm genderqueer! i don't use transgender or trans anything for myself. but some people may be genderqueer and transgender. this shouldn't be new knowledge, i thought this ended in 2019...
