did you ever seen a take on your fav character that was so bad and so off base compared to what you yourself depict them as, that you are just ????? lol wut. why. or do you manage to avoid this level of shock? sorry english not my first languege. i could have worded it strangely.

Everyone's take on Tsukasa as some deranged evil seme rapist is probably the furthest I've ever felt this. He's too naive to even grasp anyone's innuendo..... let alone...........act........... reality is, he's childish cutesy energetic otouto.... it's not even "compared to what you yourself depict them as" more like "what sensei themselves depicts them as" lol...

in Matsu there were some people perceiving Jyushimatsu as, somehow too autistic(?) to have sex(?). they can go work that out in therapy or something....

I guess JSHK is this 1,000 times over, but it's probably just as a result of this being one of the 'newest' things I like (in terms of its release) and thus the very modern plague of people being unable to not shuffle characters into the categories of 'evil groomer rapist crazy person' and 'innocent victim' (this comes from both fandom 'camps'. I would almost say its at times worse with 'problematic' culture than with cops *rubs my temples*). It's really funny how Amane/Tsukasa respectively get shuffled into these presets, even a Sumire/Hakubo...... honestly these categories get applied to like, a Sunny/Mari, too? If you look you'll see this again and again and again...... cute, endearing or twee incest or agegap is on the decline in America. Very sad. It's instead more like "yeah I like very bad things, I'm a bad bad boy!!!! it's so DISGUSTING for Mari to fuck Sunny!!! It's evil of her!!!!" I feel like, kids can you lighten up... its just a handjob, can't a sister help a brother out.............. I'm being lighthearted (I hope) .......

I think it has less to do with any narrative or author's vision or efficacy of delivering it and honestly not even necessarily individual reader's 'visions' and more like, a natural result of fanart as a form of virtue-signaling (and I think many people 'virtue signal' their 'degeneracy', in mirror to the other side). In this way I have gradually less and less shock... if there's any kind of complication in the dynamic or even just a discrepancy in age, they're going to get skewed into 'deliberate malicious attacker' and 'poor victim', regardless of canon. I'm sure if I participated in or observed western fandom more I'd have dozens of comical examples of this to list .........................................

historically examples of this were more idiosyncratic and thus more enriching to get mad about, I think there was more whimsy in discrepancies then.
