I'm, not saying hsr story is better but genshin nothing but slice of life and endless parade of no conflict is boring. the fact that you're just waiting for the game to be literally over for it to be considered good proves my point.

i mean... no? i consider the "main plot" of gi good right now, it will only get better during its climax. but it moves slow as fucking molasses lol. the sideplot bullshit is what you're referring to and yeah it's not all that great. it's filler.
